This is a strictly all vegetarian/ vegan restaurant but it's so delicious I promise you won't miss it! They had a chili fried cauliflower that I thought was some sort of spicy chicken! Could've fooled me! I would recommend going for the buffet as it offers a lot of amazing options and the food is always fresh. A lot of buffets have sat out in the open air and are dry or picked over by the time you get into a late lunch. But not here! All the food was quickly replenished of it got close to being low. The staff and service is friendly, and prompt. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. The location is so convenient right off of west end and 440. I eat meat so I had skipped this place for several years but after giving it another shot, I will definitely be back much more often! Yum

The best Indian food around! I'm not sure what took us so long to get here but we'll be back! Friendly staff and really comprehensive menu. The prices are very fair and the portions are generous.

Incredible food, atmosphere and service. There is a reason in this restaurant it's been around in Nashville as long as it has. Absolute quality and deliciousness. Also kindness and generosity to those who LOVE the popadoms.

Woodlands, despite the fact that I went there terribly suspicious, because all they served with was vegetables, turned out to be a real surprise. The food was excellent. The service was OK, but what was their real secret weapon was the fusion of Asian and Indian foods. Amazing.Want to hear more amazing? The prices, by comparison, are rock-bottom. I wouldn't change anything.

I've dined at many South Indian vegetarian restaurants that were very much out in the sticks and offered a marginal dine-in experience, but this one was in an urban locale not far from Vanderbilt and a nice enough place to dine in. It was not crowded when I arrived, but large groups began arriving by the time I was finished. The sort of cuisine they offer goes beyond the average Indian restaurants and includes various lentil-based specialties. I deferred on getting a dosa (crepe) and instead got an ildi appetizer (steamed rice and lentil cakes) and the channa bhatura, which was labeled as a house special. My idli came in a set of three, with a tasty soup and a coconut chutney that wasn't as flavorful. The bhatura is a fried bread and theirs is one of the largest I've seen. It arrives puffed up at around the size of half of a basketball, though you'll deflate it quickly in the process of eating. The accompanying chickpea curry was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so, and teeming with flavor. I wished it had come with a few more accoutrements (onions, fried chili peppers, yogurt, or mixed pickle are common inclusions for this sort of thing). I had a chai unsweetened, which was fine but nothing special. And overall, it was good food and one of the few places you're likely to see this cuisine in the region, but not the best I've ever had.

I am vegan and gluten free and have so many options to choose from here. My favorite dish is the coconut veggie curry! They always have the best service and anticipate your needs before you have to ask! I 100% recommend woodlands to everyone!

Food was great. Ambiance was quaint. Service was mixed. Person who brought our food out was very I forActive and engaged when we had questions. The person. Who took our order seemed to be a bit perturbed when we were trying to find the other menu item we wanted. He even told us to decide what we want and he would return.....Not the best for new customers to experience. I will probably return but know all the staff are not patient especially if you continue remember where an item is on menu!!!!
