On a recent return to Seattle we had to check out this joint that made Yelp's top 100 US restaurants. Had to find out how Wood Shop could edge out Texas places like Franklin's bbq.Three of us ordered a plate of pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends and a plate of lean AND fatty brisket. We threw in a side of buttermilk slaw. All plates come with pickled onion and bread and butter cuke slices. The cukes weren't parboiled so the thin slices retained an earthy cucumber flavor. The burnt ends were good but not the best we've had. These came pre-sauced.The pulled pork was tender and very moist; my son proclaimed it was some of the best he's had.We enjoyed the brisket slices; a tender pull from both choices. Not overly smoked and no bitter aftertaste. A simple rub did not overwhelm the flavor of the meat. The slaw was a big disappointment. It was just slaw ingredients lying in a pool of buttermilk. Not sweet. Not tangy. No flavor other than the cabbage. Sigh. This dish needs to be taken behind the wood shop...The table side hot bbq sauce was hot and the mild foundation sauce had flavorful ingredients. They have a limited beer menu and a full bar. A server brings your food to the table. Or they have a robust take out service. So not all that bad for a bbq place. Even if it isn't in Texas.

Probably one of the best briskets I've had in Seattle. You can tell from the photo that it's extremely fatty and juicy. This place does sell out though, so be sure to order in advance. I wanted to try the ribs as well but those were all gone.

Found this place on a whim and it was delicious. There was ample seating in the front and back of the restaurant. The service was order at the front, they bring your food to the table, and you return the tray. It was a quick in and out type of meal. The staff were sweet and helpful in ordering and checking in with your meal. We got 1/2 of fatty brisket and 1 1/2 of the beef rib. The brisket was melt in your mouth and tender and the beef rib was fall off the bone and had so much smokiness. I loved the side of pickled onions, pickles, and white bread included, it was perfect to cut through the fattiness. They have two bbq sauces and I enjoyed that they had a spicier option. The beef rib was on the pricer side because they go by pound and had limited options during our visit but still tasted great as leftovers!

I've been wanting to try this place for several years. I knew I had to try almost everything. I ordered 1 lb brisket, 1/2 lb pulled pork and a hot link sausage. The brisket was my favorite, it was juicy and moist. The hot link was a little spicy and flavorful. The pulled pork was slightly dry but went great with their bbq sauce. For sides, we ordered the smoked jalapeño mac & cheese and potato salad. I personally liked their potato salad with the skin on. The mac & cheese was also very good and mild in spice. On another note, I was happy to they had sweet tea and it was made right too. I would highly recommend this place.

Look I have no pictures I never have pictures of this place I love taking pictures I just can't seem to remember to pause before digging in and well... I'm sorry not sorry? Let's talk food!! Brisket 10/10 absolutely 100% what are you doing here if you're not ordering this. Also did you know you can ask how much fat you'd like on your brisket (just ask for lean if you'd like less than usual) Mac and cheese 10/10 must grab a tub of these Chilli 9/10 love love love this I'd simply say the pieces of fat in there really gotta go, I know on brisket it's fine but in a sauce it just doesn't go wellAlways coming here for great barbecue, I've yet to find anything as good in the Seattle area

We got the brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, fries, and coleslaw. I think the brisket fat was quite melty and tender but the brisket meat could be more tender and flavorful. I think the meat in general was a little under-seasoned and benefitted from the bbq sauce. I liked the sauce that came with the fries because it was quite tangy to cut through the other seasonings. My favorite cut of meat was the brisket. We ordered at the front and then we chose seating. Food came out very quickly and the interior was nice.

Came here during a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a pound of fat brisket (you can choose less fat) and a small fries on side. The place has a full bar with several tables inside and a fairly large space for outdoor dining as well. Our food came within 10 mins. The brisket was really soft and delicious! I liked the fatty part along with some lean meat. They also gave us some pickles, sour reddish, and a couple of slices of bread on the side.I would definitely stop by again to try out some other type of meat here.

Here at Wood Shop BBQ, I had my first ever experience with American bbq. Smoked bbq? Texas bbq? Whatever the correct term is, I had a really good experience.Right away, the staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I mentioned that it was my first time and they made the process of ordering quick and easy.I ordered several things. I heard that the Brisket is a must when it comes to BBQ. I can see why. It was very tender and flavorful. The pork belly burnt ends were also delicious! One of my favorites was the Sausage which the staff recommended. Unfortunately, my not-so-favorite was the Brisket Chili Mac because the pasta was just swimming in the chili. The pasta seemed a bit soft and overcooked for my liking. Some may like it though so just because I wasn't a fan doesn't mean you won't enjoy it! It also would have been nice to have a second slice of bread for me and my partner, but it's okay. I'm eager to try the sandwiches next time! The ambience was nice. I came in the middle of the weekday so it wasn't busy at all. Pretty quiet for the most part. I like the location of this restaurant because right after I got dessert across the street. Overall I'd rate this place a 4.3/5! As a first timer for BBQ, I'd say this place left a good impression on me. The food was hearty and kept me full. So full in fact, I fell asleep as soon as I went home. I can't wait to get some more again!
