Wonderful Sushi in Hillcrest is a great spot for a family sushi lunch. We tried four rolls (the Albacore, Hillcrest, avocado, and crunchy rolls were all delicious) and the macaroon ice cream was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. It wasn't too busy when we went, which was a nice change of pace.Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a solid sushi spot in Hillcrest.

It's been a minute since I've written a review, but here we are. While picking up some spices from Penzey's in the same mall we decided to give Wonderful Sushi a try. We were greeted and seated almost immediately which was nice. Service was on par and everyone was friendly. We sat outside, server was a little put off when we asked if they had any "happy hour" specials being it was only 5:15 pm. His reply was simply no! Kind of a let down considering we're in Hillcrest. We ordered what seemed a nice mix of hand rolls and specialty items to be sadly not impressed. Flavorless rolls, bland toppings, small portions for gourmet prices. $89.00 plus tip left me unsatisfied and won't be coming back.

I ordered sushi via DoorDash and it did not meet my expectations. I ordered the Crazy Crunch Roll & Spicy Girls Roll. They were both very similar tasting, almost mushy, not very cold, nothing special. Pretty disappointed with this experience, especially for the price. Also -- I suggest NOT putting orange garnish in with the sushi.

My roommie got sushi and gyoza from here and it was not impressive at all. The gyoza tasted frozen and had a weird texture to it like it was chewy, but still had a slight crunch to it. The sushi had no real flavor to it. The fish smelled and tasted like it wasn't fresh, which was really concerning to me. I ended up only eating one piece of sushi because I didn't want to risk getting sick off of it.

Had the KARAGE udon and it was amazing, great portion, broth was full of flavor and the overall environment from the chefs and servers were very welcoming. A great late night sushi spot and now definitely will be on my favorites list. Lastly the hospitality as you leave as well was a great experience.

I recently got food delivered from Ubereats. I live in Hillcrest, so it's not far. I got the new rainbow roll, miso soup, bluefin nigiri and salmon nigiri. While the portions were good and tasted great, I promptly had to go to the bathroom several times after my meal.... Then during my sleep, I was woken up at 4 am with a terrible tummy ache and ran to the bathroom. I'm now questioning the freshness of their fish and you probably should as well.
