I've been eating at Wok n Talk (first Mission Hill then Brighton location) since 2013 - it's been a beautiful 8 years together. The Brighton location blows Mission Hill out of the water. It's way more consistent, slightly different pricing and combos, and way better quality ingredients. Here's the must-try favorites:- Teriyaki udon (unreal. just, unreal)- Pork fried rice (full of flavor, sweet and salty)- Chicken + beef teriyaki (the most gigantic pieces of chicken and beef. I get nervous ordering beef on a stick because you never know if you're gonna pay $10 for 3 bites of beef... these are FAT and more tender than tips. Idk how they are making money off these)- Crispy spring rolls (really a vehicle for their delicious tangy duck sauce)- Boneless spare ribs (perfect fat + meat combo, never tough or grizzly)- Pad Thai (as good as you can get from a non-Thai place)- Lo mein (saucy and full of flavor)- Chicken wings (fat as hell - never seen wings so big)- Boba tea (sealed like from a legit tea house... it's worth ordering. Boba is fresh)The combos are around $15 and come with 2 full sized appetizers and a small rice or lo mein - it's a DEAL. Chicken on a stick = $8, rice $9, rangoons $8... and you get it all for $15. God blessThey have a VERY expansive menu and I really haven't had anything bad from there. I've gotten delivery when I lived in Allston and now I pick up because I'm way out of delivery range. There's always street parking available and the lady is super friendly. Check your bag, no restaurant is perfect and on occasion they may forget an item but it's pretty rare. The worst thing about this place is that they don't open until 4pm. Although it has probably saved me a fortune by not being available at lunchtime. In conclusion... I strongly disagree with the negative reviews on here. I've blown more than 5k in my years addicted to this place and the food is truly crave-worthy and memorable. Just get the damn udon, pork fried rice, and chicken & beef on a stick! YOU'RE WELCOME!

I live a very short walk from here and every 4-5 months I think "ugh its so convenient, it can't be THAT bad, right?" then it is. The chicken wings and gyoza are ok when not burnt. Everything else I've had is not good and the restaurant is very visibly dirty. I don't like writing bad reviews but I'm writing this one as a reminder to myself to go elsewhere.

Really good food only down side the chicken fingers were too crispy and the chicken was hard other than that everything else was amazing great food and amazing staff. I will definitely recommend the prices are affordable too!!

Wok n Talk has been around for a few years now, but I was always avoiding it because of its prices. It is located in Oak Square as not the only Chinese restaurant around, but when compared with Brighton Center it has always been a little more expensive. However, it is definitely worth the price upgrade. This past weekend I ordered a rice bowl with orange chicken (about $9) and their crab rangoons ($4.25 for 4). I got the orange chicken with fried rice and I found the rice decently flavorful. Not my favorite but it definitely had some flavor and some vegetables inside. The orange chicken was spicier than I imagined, but it was good. Decent portion for the price. The chicken tasted fresh and the sauce was good. I definitely enjoyed this and would order it again. The crab rangoons were ok. They tasted like they only had cream cheese in them, which was a little disappointing. I don't think they had anything else in them based on looking inside.Overall, I'll probably come back. I wish it were a little cheaper, but it's the best Chinese in the area, and the food was ready in 15 minutes which is perfect for when you have a Chinese food craving.

Small shop in Brighton but is always great. They're open late which is great for the late night meals and they don't take long when making your food. Great fried rice and orange chicken but the lo mein is my favorite. Steam pork buns and the chicken gyoza are my go to. Overall love the place.
