Wishbone

As a third or fourth-time customer, I can confidently recommend Wishbone as a breakfast hotspot . Typically I get the chicken and waffles but this time went for the crunchy french toast and simply put...everything is chef's kiss! The french toast is coated in corn flakes and just adds the crunch you are always looking for in this dish! It also paired perfectly with the chicken sausage links--you get four per order..We also indulged in the champagne bucket, just to kick off a fun MDW!Think small diner ambiance when you picture Wishbone. It's cozy and welcoming. The affordability is also a major plus, especially for a restaurant in the West Loop. I often describe Wishbone as "what I wish IHOP was".Despite Wishbone's early closing time (typically around 2-3pm depending on the day), we never feel rushed. The service is consistently efficient, and our food is always prepared quickly and correctly. The staff is friendly and attentive, making each visit a pleasant and stress-free experience.Overall, Wishbone has consistently delivered delicious food and excellent service. It's an affordable gem in the West Loop, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Food was decent but NOT GOOD and certainly not the Wishbone quality that was once on Morgan in the West Loop.Service left a lot to be desired and small things (such as manners and a proper Point of Sale system) were lost on the staff; my waiter seemed more annoyed with me and my Apple card and ignoring me than interested in serving my food (which was completed by runners).I WON'T return.Ambiance......looks and feels more like a beach bum spot that belongs next to the lake rather than anything Southern or anything resembling comfort, another sure miss.

Food was TERRIBLE. For the first time in my life, I actually had to send something back. I ordered the rainbow trout--it had a very strange aftertaste (that my side dish also had for some reason) that made me feel instantly nauseous.My friend's main and side dish didn't have this strange aftertaste, and after sending my food back, all I asked for was a soda and homefries to at least eat something for the meal. I was charged for these.Service was mediocre; I was very apologetic to the server for sending the food back, but the staff glared at me and was very cold afterwards. The ambiance is nice, however--good noise levels and fitting décor. No indoor waiting area. Would only recommend to someone who had wronged me.EDIT: To the response I received: this was from half a year ago, not nearly two years ago. This place is a great choice if you want to enjoy soul food. It's spacious, clean, and bright, with outdoor seating options. The staff is amiable, and the food arrives quickly, accompanied by a tasty spicy sauce. Overall, this sums up the experience you can expect to have at this place.

Wishbone is pretty good for brunch with family. They are on the pricier side for breakfast and portions are small in my opinion. I got their Spinach Omelette with their corn bread. The corn bread is really good! The omelette is that of a typical veggie omelette. The service was good and it had both outdoor and indoor seating.

FINGER LICKING GOOD I have been on the hunt for the best southern food in Chicago, and Wishbone is in first place. Man when I tell you I devoured this food under 10 mins, it was so delicious. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and grits with a side of catfish. It was so flavorful and filling. The catfish was cooked to perfection paired with the home made hot sauce. I ordered a side of gravy for my biscuit and it was amazing, thick and delicious.They have freshly squeezed orange juice and the sweet tea is great. The sweet tea does have free refills. Our server Daniella was such a sweetheart, I will come back just to see her.The vibe is comfy and welcoming.They also have lots of street parking.

Giving this place 3-stars primarily because the waitress never sat me up and I had to ask another waitress to take my order. My waitress disappeared and I didn't see her again. It's unfortunate because the food was actually good and the grits were what I came for. Happy to know this is Oprah's spot. The tall thin black female waitress i believe she had dreads is attentive and although she wasn't my waitress, she kept checking on me. I'll be back and hope for a better service experience once im back in Chicago for business.

I enjoyed their Louisiana Chicken Salad with lemon tahini dressing and corn muffin. That corn muffin was moist and not very sweet which was perfect! I loved their cheese grits and flavorful collard greens. The collard greens were cooked and stewed with turkey leg. Their Jambalaya Omelette was awesome and is now my favorite breakfast item in town. In addition, I loved their Bootsy Collins cocktail. Service was excellent.

Straight off an overnight flight and off to brunch. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The fish was nice and flaky. The tartar sauce was different so I didn't use much of It. The French toast was simple and delicious. Staff was friendly

10/10..A quick google search pulled this spot up showing the chicken and waffle.It was better than expected. Great food, service and vibe. Chill breakfast spot with great offerings.
