Windy City Cafe

Just finished dining at Windy City Cafe. I stopped by expecting a quick coffee stop and found it was a full service diner. I was pleasantly surprised and decided to sit in. I was greeted and sat immediately, the staff was incredibly friendly and kind and welcoming. The food came quick and was excellent, I had the chicken and waffles. Their coffee is also very good and I was able to take a fresh cup to go with me when I was finished. If you sit facing the door, you get a nice view of the city. It's been a 90 degree plus week but the inside of the cafe was so comfortable and cool despite the hot temps outside. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely come back if I'm in the area again

What a nice little find (at least for us) in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. We came here to visit St. John Cantius Catholic Church ... which is just a block away ... and then we were in the hunt for breakfast. YELP did us a solid in directing us here ... with reviews reaching just above 4 stars.One in our party had the Belgian Waffle (a 5 star offering that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside), the other in our party had a side of bacon and a dry English Muffin (4 star nice crispy bacon, which made my own version of a bacon sandwich just delightful). While we only tried two small dishes, they were very nice. BTW the coffee was 5 star stuff.Service was on point here, the food came out quickly and fresh. The dining room was a nice tidy place that could seat a number of people. The kitchen is visible from both rooms, and gives it the feel of a neat diner. There is a parking lot out back, but it doesn't hold many cars ... that means you may struggle to find a neighborhood parking space ... but don't let that hold you back as this place is worth it. Their website seems to be Under Construction, and they should remedy that; they have been here for awhile, and should show that with their social media sites. Normal hours are 7:30 am to 2:30 pm ... typical breakfast/lunch times. Nice outing, and we'll be back to try some additional items ... and probably lunch too.

Came here for a farewell brunch with a few friends from camp (SSTP) visiting Chicago. It was a convenient 30 second walk from the Airbnb we were staying at.Overall nice spot, with standard service, and solid food. We ordered the chorizo eggs benedict and some pancakes which was a relatively light meal post-run, smaller portions than expected by the price, and nothing special about the food.

The Malibu Morning omelette is the BEST omelette I have ever had. Fluffy. Tasty. Enough for 2 meals! Great service too.

Food is always really tasty and there's sauce. Scrambled eggs are very delicious. There's sausages really tasty. Breakfast sandwiches are really good. Highly recommend this place.

Great breakfast spot right in my neighborhood! Windy City Cafe is such a cute and quaint place and everyone could find something they like on the menu. Service was great, everyone was so nice and attentive. I had the lox plate and it was a great size portion for the price. We also had the Eggs Benedict and Belgium Waffles. All were classic dishes, really nothing fancy but all well done. Excited to return with our fur baby for warmer patio weather!

Hands down the best breakfast around! Right off the Chicago blueline. They take cash and debit. The service was unbelievable and we were offered to go coffees which is always a nice tpuch.We had cinnamon bun French toast. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. Made from a cinnamon bun and even came with some icing. The sausage and biscuits were delectable. Biscuits were moist and buttery. The gravy was perfect. Also, we had the pulled pork benedict with potatoes. We shared all the plates because they were too good to keep to one's self.

Nice staff. Comfort food breakfast. Seems like a perfect Saturday morning retreat for me.

Had the best fritata of my brunch life! Creamy and delicious Wonderful staff.Great find on our way to the salt shed!

Service was very good. Very good and hearty breakfasts for the four of us. I highly recommend Windy City Cafe
