Sweet and delicious bbq. I have tried the rib tips, turkey tips, grilled half chicken, and turkey link. Literally everything was awesome. FYI, this is not the vinegar based bbq sauce, it's sweet and tasty. I also tried the strawberry lemon drop and the Wilma Punch. Both were good if you like sweet drinks. I had a lemon and lime squeezed in for some zing.

I heard about Wilma's from a Tik Tok video. I didn't even know this restaurant had taken over the old Tilted Kilt location. The woman on Tik Tok was a recent transplant from New Orleans, and she gave Wilma's a glowing recommendation, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I visited one weekend with my sister. We walked in and were greeted promptly. We ordered two catfish dinners and a side of greens. The catfish was listed in the menu as Grandma's licking something or another. I don't recall the exact description, but I know that's what I repeated to the waitress when she took our order. We also ordered a side of greens. Lastly, I asked her if they served actual Coke products or if the soda was generic. She stated that it was Coke, so I ordered it. Anyway, the beverages are brought out, and the soda isn't Coke. It's definitely an off brand, and it's was also flat, so I asked for a lemonade instead. The lemonade wasn't much better, unfortunately. It was also an off brand and much too sweet. I didn't complain, though. i just pushed it aside and drank water. The waitress comes back with two large seafood platters with an enormous amount of food! We're two petite women who weigh 125lbs at most, so there's no way we could've finished one pl, tter much less two of them! We tell the waitress that we only ordered catfish and fries. That's it.... initially, the waitress insisted that she heard platters, but we told her that neither one us ever said that. The waitress says she must talk to the manager and leaves for over ten minutes. She comes back and tells us to remove the catfish and fries from the platters, which we do. She takes the rest of the food to the kitchen where, presumably, employees consume it.The catfish was decent. We weren't blown away by it or anything, but it IS actual catfish being served, unlike a lot of places that try to pass swai or tilapia off as catfish. The greens were salty, but otherwise, pretty good. I'm not sure I'd visit the location again and probably wouldn't recommend it, though. Honestly, I'm not even sure the restaurant is worthy of having such a prime loop location. The overall vibe and food are mediocre and somewhat underwhelming. The decor is simple, and the space is sparsely furnished. Many of the walls are barren. It was clean and comfortable, though.I think the bill was nearly $70 for two catfish dinners! We were shocked, and when we requested a printed bill to review the charges, our waitress said we'd get one after we paid. She never told us that 18% gratuity was automatically added to every check. My sister paid the bill and added $10 for the tip, so the waitress received that on top of 18%, which was annoying. She wasn't worthy of that at all. She should have told us about the gratuity, but she didn't for obvious reasons, which was a huge turn-off. We thought about talking to the manager about it, but decided against it. Instead, we won't return, and we'll tell others to go elsewhere, too.Lastly, I hope Wilma's received permission from Hanna Barbera Productions to use The Flintstones likeness in the restaurant artwork!

The Turkey rib tips were very tender but the sauce was way too sweet. I like a sweet and Smokey sauce but this way sweet like a candied apple. The food arrived quickly and it was a large portion size. The soul food egg rolls were dry. The filling was predominantly meat with one piece of Mac n cheese, a I saw a leaf of greens in one egg roll. The server said just sign and I saw that she automatically added 18% gratuity. Mini Turkey tip with fries. Then 2 egg rolls cut in half. $40.14 total bill. I am a good tipper but that kinda rubbed me wrong way. The staff were all friendly. The artwork on the walls is very beautiful and music ambiance nice. There was a single rose on each table.

So very disappointed. Ordered delivery. This is a small link for $15 the links are extremely small, the portion of fries was minimal, no bread (who sells links with no bread), oh the did give a side of nasty coleslaw. So very disappointed. (Yes I already said that) An absolute waste of money. Rather stay in the hood next time. Wilma's never again.

The food was so good. The rib tips and sauce was good. The greens and Mac and cheese was good and seasoned. The soul rolls were tasty and different. Our waiter Q, was excellent and did his thing. It is a little pricey.

I dont know how many people know about this place but I didn't and just found it by Googling "food near me" when in the city recently. What a great find. The ribs were cooked perfectly. The baked beens were a recipe I never tasted before and craved the next day. Mac and cheese was classic. The portions were monsterous. I got the large ribs and tips with fries to-go. I loved how the sauce covered everything. Sauce was really good too. Service was great, everyone was happy and friendly. I would like to try eating in some day. I did have to wait a quite a little longer after I got a message tha my food was ready but that was really no big deal. I can't wait till I'm back in Chicago next year to bring my buddies.

Learned about this place from Snapchat on Korporates page. I watch the skits all the time and I'm a big fan. All the food here was prepared fresh and hot, expect the sides. I could tell those are pre-made because it's the only thing that came out below room temp. Decor is awesome. Whoever the artist is painting these murals has a bunch of talent. Service was a bit slow but I feel that it's because they were under-staffed. Which is a common hurdle for all of the food service industry rn. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Chicago. They have serveal locations.

Located where the old Tilted Kilt used to be...Wilma's Famous BBQ & Tavern has certainly anchored its southern smokehouse roots. Your sense of smell is elevated as you hit the corner of this establishment FROM OUTSIDE! Your menu options are endless and portion sizes are abundant so bring a friend or two. Sink your teeth in some of their most savory selections. The soul rolls are a MUST HAVE! The rolls are packed with the entire thanksgiving meal packed in every bite. Don't forget to drizzle the homemade candied yams syrup on top. Taste buds will be automatically activated. The ambience is inviting and family friendly. The service was prompt and impeccable see the bartender D and tell him Chantelle sent you!

Overall great experience at Wilma's! Went during lunch so not too busy, got seated immediately. Got a half slab of ribs but wish I had gotten a full rack! Very good! Waiter was very attentive to us and what I assume is the manager came around to make sure we were doing well. A bit tricky to find since it is on the 2nd floor, though it is a very spacious and nice area.

First time in Chicago. The ambiance is great! We sat at the bar for 10 minutes without service. Victor, the bartender, didn't acknowledge us until 20 minutes later, after the owner sent another waitress to assist us.SHOUT OUT Angie, she was GREAT!
