Everything about Yaya's is amazing. From the people who run it, to the quality of the items they make (or sell) in the shop, to the friendliness of the alpacas themselves. Christmas time is especially a favorite time of the year with the lights and photo props around the property. My kids love feeding the alpacas and getting up close and personal is a really unique and cool experience for everyone. HIGHLY recommend.

A visit to YaYa's Alpaca Farm can make any day brighter! This has been the highlight of our week so far, and if you're in the Kansas City area, we highly recommend a visit! We laughed and learned, and our hearts were full after getting to know these sweet animals! This is a fun and educational trip for kids and adults alike. I left there with such a happy heart and, of course, wanting a few alpacas now of my own! Maybe one day! The entire experience was over 2 hrs long, and we plan on returning the next time we're in the area. I loved hearing Yaya tell his story of how the farm came to be; we learned a ton about his sweet animals and the work that goes into keeping them on the farm. The group mainly consisted of children, and Yaya entertained them the entire time, which is no easy feat with young children's attention spans. You can tell Yaya is passionate about his farm and sharing his love for Alpacas with others. If you're an animal lover, I highly recommend visiting.

I came for the first time for the Christmas tour. This was so much fun! I'm an alpaca lover, and to be out and about in the yard with them, feeding them, petting them, and just enjoying being in their presence was therapeutic.

I've waited a while to post a review about YaYa's because I had to take time and reflect on my visit as a whole. I'd like to start by saying the majority of my visit was an absolute dream, and the rating I gave represents a moment I had with the owners wife, not the farm overall. The experience starts off with a history lesson about the alpacas by the owner, and he really knows his stuff! (There were a few alpacas in the meeting room casually walking around, it was a great touch to the presentation.) I was so fascinated by all the things I learned, I was ready to get out and get mixy with the herd. Alpacas are such beautiful and calm creatures, and my heart was genuinely overwhelmed with joy as I got the chance to spend time in their presence. We were allowed unlimited feed to give the alpacas, and they seriously ate it up! After about 30 minutes or so, the group went back in, and we were given a tutorial about how items were made with the alpaca fur. At this point the owners wife comes up to me and we have an uncomfortable exchange (this being the second one, as she initially came up to me when we were outside). I am not going to state what she said, but I do want to be clear and say that as a person of color, I was genuinely irritated by her comments and I did not feel wanted or safe in the space. It took less than 30 seconds for me to regret patronizing this business. I will NEVER visit again.

My family and extended family visited the Alpaca farm and the experience was amazing. The experience was well suited for everyone in our party accommodating those who were uneasy at first, using a wheelchair, our more seasoned in age to our preschoolers whose attention span...you know the rest! The YaYa's made us feel welcome and comfortable while getting aquatinted with their beautiful Alpacas. Nancy is a fiber extraordinaire! The Alpaca store has plenty of souvenirs from beanies to finger puppets and even KC Chiefs themed gifts. The tour cost was reasonable, the tour length was just right and the people are friendly. I'm definitely going back before the end of the year.

it was just horrible animals sneezing or spitting all over us loljoking they know not what they do... ya ya i got some spit on my jacketbut wasnt bad will wash it.the 30 minute tour in which they treated us like they never had a tour before or after us was great . we had yaya in ours forgot to ask how she got the name.what a great idea charge people to come feed the animals. it has to be hard to finance such a thing where you take in animals and try to feed and house them all. I am all for it and hope this spirit of helping animals last foreverwhat a nice place, great group of peopleyou got a five star the universe thanks you

Our visit was incredible. We went with a small group of friends (all of us in our late 20s/early 30s) and we all had a fantastic time. You can tell the owners are passionate about what they do and have so much love for their animals. I have a one year old that we left with a babysitter so I could fulfill my alpaca-petting dreams BUT I would absolutely come back with him. It is a very family friendly environment and the alpacas are obviously awesome. If you're considering going, do it!!! You will have an amazing time while also supporting great people and animals.

We came to one of the last tours of the evening earlier this month with the Christmas lights and it was just so amazing. You could not find a nicer group of people who went out of their way to make you feel like you were the only person there. Will definitely visit again!

What a fun little adventure! My family and I took our girls to this and they loved it! It was a huge hit. YaYa is so friendly and interactive with the kids. You'll learn about alpacas, feed them, hang out with them, pick them up, and weave their fur with a machine afterwards. Such a fun place!

If 10 stars were offered YaYa's would be given all 10 of them!Such a fun experience to learn about and interact with the alpacas! The animals are gorgeous and at Ya Ya's they are loved like family. Ya Ya provides a very nice presentation before guests are free to feed the alpacas in the pen. It's quite educational for adults as well as children. They are expecting a baby alpaca in May. It would be a great time to visit after the baby is born so I'm sure we will be making another trip. The youngest was asking if we could come back again before we left YaYa's driveway! At the conclusion of the visit YaYa works with the kids turning fiber/fleece into fabric which is fascinating to watch! He's very skilled at interacting with the children and asking questions of them. No child of any age will be bored with a visit to YaYas. The gift shop is nice and offers gloves, socks, scarves, and caps made from alpaca. They also office a variety of other items such as soap, jewelry, shopping bags, and more. They have a map on the wall of where their guests have come from. It is shocking to see all the countries of origin of their visitors. Check their website for details about art lessons using the alpaca fiber. I think that will be next on our list. YaYa is recovering from a major health scare. In spite of that he did a wonderful job making our time there not only entertaining but educational. His wife is delightful, kind, knowledgeable, talented, and so sweet with the alpacas and guests. If you're seeking to support a small business offering a unique experience I highly recommend this one!I suppose there is only one way to fall in love with an alpaca and it starts with a visit to Yayas!
