Wheat State Distilling

A cool, chill place to stop into for some drinks and socialization. It wasn't super remarkable, but it wasn't a bad place, either. PROS:-Lots of drinking entertainment for you. There's a shuffleboard table (in good condition!) as well as a foosball table. In addition to having booths and tables, they also had recliner chairs and other huge tables. This place will accomodate large groups as well as smaller groups. -Bathrooms were single stall (though not unisex!) and clean.-Good variety of cocktails to enjoy. When we came in on a Friday night, they had a lot of specials for $6 drinks, but they have more expensive cocktails as well. The variety will give most everyone in your party something to enjoy. -The business had enjoyable - but not overpowering - music. It was decently easy to hold conversations across the table. In fact, the a group of 12 girls was a lot louder than the music of the establishment. -Service was pretty good as well. Drinks were brought to us relatively quickly, and despite being a "bar" establishment, the server checked in with us regularly to ask if we needed any new drinks. She brought them quickly. Check was handled promptly as well.CONS:-Drinks aren't too heavy of a pour. They could use more alcohol in them.

What a great place to hit up and play some good ol shuffle board! Eat some tasty popcorn and if your into drinks they have a lot of options. This is a really good new addition to the downtown district and a change up on things. Very casual and relax atmosphere. If your looking for a place to go out after dinner hit this place up and play some games or enjoy a good chat with friends. The help here is great also and always ready to serve. They did a great job decking out the place so expect it to be every bit amazing!

This place was great. They had great drinks, including a special drink made from fresh watermelon. We sat up at the bar and had great service the whole time we were there, which was quite some time. Probably the best part was that at the end of the night we were getting hungry and wanted something sweet. The kitchen was closed so we just had the bartender describe to us what desserts they had on the menu. Another very nice lady came out behind the bar and told us to hold on one second. She came back with spoons fulls of nutella and marshmallow fluff! She even sprinkled on some graham cracker crumbs. Just out of the kindness of her heart! Great place in a great spot!

Wheat State Distilling is Wichita's first legal distillery. So that in itself is pretty cool. They produce and sell vodka, gin, whiskey, bourbon and rum all made from wheat. You can go there on the weekends and get a free tour as well as free samples of everything they have to offer. I visited their distillery to purchase a mini barrel of bourbon as a wedding gift for some friends. I just thought the idea of being able to age a barrel of whiskey in your own home was so cool! They engraved a design I sent them onto the face of the barrel for no extra cost, which is something they do for everyone who purchases one.They offer a deal where you can pay the cost of building a barrel and then they'll use it and you can have it once they're done. But along the way you get four bottles of whatever they produce in that barrel. Watching the distillation process is the coolest part of it all. David is always happy to go over each step and answer any questions.

What a cool place! We decided to get a quick drink before we met up with friends for dinner. The bartenders and owner were such a delight! They went over the menu and explained the drinks that we were interested in trying. The drink I was ordered was very good, but there was a lot of lemon. I'm not too much of a lemon person. It was still amazing considering I drank it all! The owner and bartender told us all about their distilling and how it works. We will definitely be back!

This place is not even open to the public. It's an event center. The lady in the front was rude.

So glad Wichita has its own distillery! And having sampled the product in their tasting room, I am impressed! A Very nice whiskey!Impressive tour of the still in back of the tasting room done for 4 of us in the tasting room. Great to hear about their processes and aims for the taste, color etc.One negative - I reached out by website "contact us" and phone message to try and schedule a tour of the north plant. Never did get a response. Can't give the place a 5 after a no reply experience like that.

What a cool new place. Great to see the original distillery expand. Excellent old fashion. Love the atmosphere and the beautiful still. Look forward to msny more visits.

Very classy place to sit down and just have a nice drink! Seems like one of the only place in Wichita that can make real Old Fashion. This distilleries is in a old building which was nicely renovated to keep its original bricks. Also has a very great selection of cigars.

Friendly staff with a good atmosphere! Good drinks and nice light food items. This was within walking distance of our hotel so we went there a few times during our stay.
