Westport Inn

A perfect little get away for 2 if you are visiting Joplin, Missouri. We booked online, the office is open 8-4pm each day and the staff was attentive, responsive, and kind. They text the door code and check in info so you can arrive and depart freely. Our Chalet was Country & Western themed, clean, and plenty of towels, full bath, extra linens, optional trundle bed, and a kitchenette for coffee & a full sized refrigerator/freezer and microwave. The sitting area is nicely furnished and a Roku flat screen tv for entertainment, the bedroom had a king size bed, nice decor and an additional Roku tv. It's about 8 miles to downtown Joplin or 10 miles from the interstate. Plenty of things to do in the area. Private paved parking per chalet, close to the well lit sidewalk to each. This is near the road but quiet, and the price was the same as a chain basic hotel with little privacy. We really liked it, plus supporting a local small business. No RV or semi parking. The chalets appear to all be walk in ground level, so handicap should be fine. The road noise was minimal, and the room was very clean.

I don't think the floors have ever been swept or mopped. They were so dirty. When I walked across the floor barefoot , it turned the bottom of my feet black and that is disgusting. The air conditioner was so loud, It sounded like an airplane trying to take off the whole time it was on and you were unable to sleep because of it.

The manager! The cottages has potential but not under current manager. Her lack of communication an in ability to problems solve makes this place a 0 star for me. She justifies problems and lacks the understanding that communicating with your customers is key.

This nice little cottages don't look like much from the outside but once I arrived in room I was very surprised by how comfortable I was. Friendly easy going staff, I communicated with by email- and Was given a door code to be able to get into my room. Had a hot shower and was able to watch Tv before I ventured out to Joplin. The hotel was very quiet, and very clean- Great place to stay! Than you Westport Inn and Staff for having me!

Last fall (2021) we stayed at Westport Inn in Joplin, MO. The hand towel in the bathroom had not been changed and was damp. The sheets had twigs and debris. We later found out that hikers had stayed in the room previously and the sheets were never changed. The manager promised to give us a free night. Last month I messaged her and she said we could have a free night on 8/12 due to the debacle in the fall. I texted and asked for the code and unit number on 8/11. She said she would send it on 8/12. She never did even though I texted and called. We ended up not having a room for the night and had to drive straight through to Texas.

The cottage is very clean and newly decorated to be so cozy. Amber was so helpful and very nice to work with. We most definitely will return.

The website pics and reality are different. It sits right in the main road so traffic noise is annoying. The rooms are not designated as non smoking & our room reeked of cigarette smoke. The floor was dirty including crumbs & dust under the bed. There were no hand towels or soap for the bathroom sink. Very disappointing.
