West YMCA

This ymca is so good! The transformation from when they renovated it was much needed but it looks so good. Allot more weighted equipment now. But since the renovation it's been crowded and hard to find equipment so I would recommend them to expand it. But it's such a good community in this small ymca because everyone knows each other and everyone that comes in the same time every day.

Just the right size for a quick work out or walk on the track. Hot tub is a bit small but the steam sauna is on point!

YMCAs are the real MVPs of Wichita . Some people will just give them 5 stars bc all of the goodness they do for the community and tbh I'm one of those people. The gyms are C L E A N N N the employees are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. And the Y does SSSSOOOO much good for our community. I heard the Job Prep program for high schoolers is MMMMMMAZINNNNGGG!

Very clean gym and I really enjoy going here. Staff is really helpful with questions, even if you're not one of "their" trainees. Occasionally you'll get wanna be meatheads in here whose idea of working out is lifting as much as LOUDLY as possible, then dropping their weights on the floor. But, the staff (when nearby) will have then knock it off, usually by pointing out the signs that say "Please do not drop weights on the floor."

I been to the West YMCA for the last 2 years when I come here for vacation to my parents. I use there pool for my pool exercises. I have severe chronic pains. The people are very nice. Jesse I met just this year in August on the 24 of the month. My last will be Friday October 9, 15. I will be back next year when I will live here in Wichita Kansas. Bobby is very nice too. I've started to workout more at different locations and this was maybe my lease favorite as far as space. But as far as getting my workout in that was a no brainer and it got done with no questions asked.

Dont go here to play basketball if you aren't the typical white kid , they'll tell you to go to the South instead just like they did us this morning . No reason only ONE out of multiple people playing should get approached. The way she spoke to and addressed my boyfriend shows the type of person she is . Was my favorite Y and now we will all be canceling memberships . Worst YMCA .

I had been working out for about 45 minutes until an older lady (an employe) walks up to me telling me what I am wearing is inappropriate and that I need to put a shirt on, which I was wearing a cropped tank top (she thought it was a bra). The way she spoke to me felt very degrading and I will not be returning. There's a way to speak to a person without being rude. I didn't even want to explain that it was a cropped tank top, so without saying a word to her, I left. I do not feel comfortable coming back here if employees are going to be degrading when trying to enforce policies. I felt like I was back in middle school, I haven't been "dress coded" in years. For a tank top, not even a bra.

The west YMCA aid a great place to work out! The staff and kind, Friendly, and over all welcoming. This is a awesome place to work out.

The facility is great. It has what you need, it's never too busy, and it's not too big. However, staff here is not serious about fitness.
