So many Walts. So many burgers. This is #2 in an investigation into the story behind the mysterious Walt, and the multitude of burgers he left behind.Have you ever ventured south of Kellogg on West Street? There is NOTHING down there. Nothing but business park after business park, and before you know it West Street stops going south and you're at Pleasures in the middle of the day. AGAIN. But before you reach rock bottom, Walt is there to fill your belly. Provided you have arrived during weekday lunchtime, and further provided you enjoy a very well-done and dry burger. Sure, they make an effort to toast the bun, but it's only good if the inside portions of the bread are toasted. The outside portions of this bun were toasted too, which I find quite unpleasant. Standard MPO dressing here, though I suspect the large amount of mustard was an attempt to cover up the dryness of the meat. The fries were frozen, but they tasted like oversized Burger King fries. They were fried well, too, so ultimately, I didn't care. The burger, though, was not pleasant. Walt's a pretty deep guy, and he can't be everything to everyone. I'm only scratching the surface of this crazy restaurateur, and I intend to get to the very bottom, no matter how many greasy buns I have to shove in my mouth.Rating: 3 Walts out of 10

I have been here before but its been maybe 8 years, but I remember they had good burgers but never reviewed them. Since I'm now on the great quest to find the Best Burger Joint in Wichita, I had to go back and revisit. They have single Hamburger for $2.19, Double for $3.19, and a Triple for $4.29. You add cheese for $ .55 and Lettuce and Tomato for $ .45 more. Fries are $1.39 for small and $1.99 for Large. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger, Fries and a drink. Well the patties look to be about 1/4 lb, about 3/8" thick and not as wide as the bun. They had a good flavor and were nice and juicy. The burger came with chopped up pickles and onion with mustard. The fries were not homemade but the processed type you find at most places. They were not cooked crispy as I like but were OK. recommended Over all I feel it was a good tasting burger but to small for the price. I don't believe they will make my top 5 list.

For under 5bucks I had a decent hamburger deal. A McDonalds price but most definitely not as heinous of a meal. The burger came in a standard dressing of chopped onions and mustard on top a grilled bun.French fries of the frozen variety, but they are cooked to a crispy perfection with a fluffy potato center, which is typical of this Walt's. From a quick google search you'll find a dozen places of business in the Wichita area titled "Walt's", none of which are related.

I've been eating at this place for a long time the food used to be good I think the lady changed her cook because now the burger is really dry and fries or frozen it's not like it used to be when she first opened up

Sometimes you just want a good (possibly unhealthy) burger, this is my favorite place. Very inexpensive, makes a good lunch stop if you have a short break.

Awful!!! If you are only open Monday thru Friday from 10:30 to 3, closed Saturday and Sunday, you would think the food would be fresh. The burgers looked like the cheap patties you buy at Walmart, and they were burnt. The taco meat was burnt and disgusting. The fries and tater tots were soggy, and I only live about 5 miles away. Only stopped there because there was a wreck at Douglas and West St. and traffic was so bad, could not get into West St. Burgers, they always have fresh good food. Since you are hardly open, if you are serving crap like we got, do people a favor and close all together, so they don't make the mistake of stopping there as a last resort and getting disgusting food.

First off the place is filthy. Salt&Pepper shakers stuck to my hand. Windows can barely see through. The table and bench seat although lined clean you stuck to it.We had our burger dang beat faster than we could sit down, what does that tell you. The food was edible I guess. We just wanted or and felt dirty. We played a sing on the table juke box and the buttons wereally like touching glue...go to Freddie'soMuch better deal

Surprised by the low reviews, reading through them I see that people are talking about price and size - now I understand; you people are looking for a Yankee-burger: big'ol hockey puck (or maybe a double) with lots of mayonaise and ketchup. Anyone who knows what a real hamburger (mustard, pickle, onion) is supposed to taste like knows that Walt's on West Street is the best in town. The Hamburger Connessoir

While eating the best hamburger in Wichita today, I watched 3 uniformed servicemen go to the counter and ask for a refill on their pop. The cashier informed them there would be a charge for the refill. I was so dissappointed to see this policy. I can understand food costs, but what our servicemen do for us is worth more than a free soda pop refill. They would die for our country. I would like Walts to consider giving uniformed service men and women free refills as a thank you for thier service. Oh... I bought them a round of refills and I thanked them on behalf of our country. Just something to think about. Trish Sapien, Newton, Kansas
