Walnut Street is an awesome place for lunch. I stopped by on a Saturday, and although the place was busy, service was awesome. Everyone was super friendly as well. If you want a deli sandwich, there is a stand as you walk in the front door with slips of paper and pencils to fill out an order form. Then when you are ready, you bring it to the counter. I had a turkey sandwich on homemade bread along with some chips and a soda. They have a really nice selection of unique chips and drinks next to the counter. I'd never heard of some of the brands they carried, but I really enjoyed the Great Lakes Michigan Cherry BBQ chips so much that I ordered some online. The sandwich was so loaded with turkey, I actually had to bring half of it home. They do not skimp out on the meat and cheese for sure. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth visiting!

I revisited the establishment awhile back. I utilized the drive-thru just because it's handy and quick. I ordered my usual frozen drink with an extra shot along with a 6 pack of cookies to take home. For the first time I ordered ice tea as well. Employee asked if I wanted any sweetener? I replied asking for some Splenda. The employee was very nice at the window. I paid and asked for a receipt then went on about my day. When I got the time later I looked at my receipt. I was charged $0.50 for 3 packets of Splenda. Really? I was upset because it was the principle of the situation. Update: I later spoke with the manager about the situation, which I feel was very unproductive because he just wanted to argue. I explained to him that I could have walked in the establishment and grabbed an entire handful of Splenda for free. The response I got from him is he has to pay labor to put the Splenda in the tea. I suggested him just give the Splenda to the customer to do. Also at least put it on the menu that it cost extra, so the customer isn't surprised. The manager brought it up I get an extra shot that costs more. Yeah, but it's on the menu how much it's going to cost too. I decided it wasn't worth arguing with him anymore. I went from a regular to non-regular customer. If I hadn't asked for my receipt I would have never known! I feel the manager should've treated his customer with respect and compassion, but this didn't happen.

Only open since January 2023 this deli and coffee shop was busy. The inside has plentiful seating with a loft above. Service was very fast and friendly. We stopped for coffee and a pastry. The syrup selection was the BEST i have ever seen! So many flavors and choices. We went with the signature Walnut St Mocha which did not disappoint. All baked goods are made on site. Being a scone lover I got the blueberry and the raspberry white chocolate. My motto " if one is good, two is better"! Both were fabulous. Quite possibly the best scones I've ever had!!I noticed people ordering sandwiches from the deli filling out a form as they came in. Next visit I will try the deli sandwiches.

Wow! What a great surprise for a lunch stop. One of the best sandwiches in memory. Quality meats and cheese and generous amounts. Excellent house made bread. I watch people coming in to take out baked goods. Some of those cinnamon rolls will go home with us.

This is a fairly new Amish restaurant. Great subs! Great service! Lots of windows. A couple outdoor tables. Subs loaded with lots of meat & cheese. We had roast beef & cheddar & the meat & cheese were some of the best we've ever hand. We bought a lb of each to bring home. They have a very nice selection of home baked bread, pastries, cookies, canned jams, pickles, okra, apple butter, & all that (haven't tried yet) that we bought also. I had a mocha & my husband had a sweet tea, both very good. Very clean dining area & bathroom. There was a loft, which we didn't go up to. We will definitely plan to stop there every time we go through Oskaloosa. Note hours : closes at 4pm. My only recommendation is to add a coat rack in the bathroom. This restaurant is a real gem!
