For the price, it does just fine. The rooms are clean, everything worked for me (except the wifi) and the service was adequate and friendly. Great plus that they're dog-friendly; pet fee is $10/night. No size limit. The only complaint I have is that the pillows are laughably flat. I literally laughed... but other than that for $40 it's a steal. Super 8 by 1-70 was $70 after tax, not including $15 per fee and is essentially the same. Also Taco Bell is next door which is awesome

Needed a cheap room at 5:30am after driving from Chicago. Room was clean, and the service was accommodating. Check in and check out was easy. Would definitely recommend if you're in Salina and need a place to rest your head with no frills.

if you are wanting BASIC then this is the place for you. if all you want is a warm (or cool) room, a decent bed, and a shower for a relatively inexpensive price (around $40), then this is the place for you.if what you want are amenities... a pool, exercise room, a television guaranteed to work, a coffee maker, a room telephone guaranteed to work (I tried to call from my room to my son's and it wouldn't work) breakfast.... this ain't your place. while I was about to check out and was waiting for my son to pull our car up, I heard another customer (who had never been there) tell the clerk "i want a NICE room." and I told him "you came to the wrong place for that." (the clerk didn't hear me, she had walked away for a minute) as for the customer service, it is kind of minimal but when the family who owns the hotel does interact with you, they are very nice and kind. another thing I was glad for, the two times I have stayed there this hotel is pretty quiet. not a lot of nonsense going on in the halls or even outside in the parking lot. I have to come to Salina on a semi regular basis. when I know I have to stay overnight I try to stay elsewhere (like the Americinn, which is my favorite). but if I am low on funds-- like I was this weekend-- the Value Inn is better than some of the motels located on Broadway or Pacific (those can be a bit scary). but it is definitely NO FRILLS.

Should have known it would be unpleasant immediately. The lobby door was shattered, and the lobby smelled disgusting. We were given a chance to see the room first because it was a single instead of a double, but we declined thinking nothing of it. The room we were assigned had some sort of brown liquid which I can only hope was soda all over the walls. Not to mention the cigarette burns on the wall too. A hole was kicked into the wall behind the door. The room smelled like stale pizza. There was wet wadded tissue above the mirror. The peep hole in the door was covered with electrical tape. One of the lights didn't work because the wiring was cut. We requested another room, which looked cleaner, but when my husband pulled back the comforter he discovered hair all over the pillow. They wouldn't give a refund, but tried to give us another room. At that point I was afraid to even touch anything. We slept in our car instead.

I was fine with the price and desperate for a room after car breakdown. Avoid this dump like the plague . My toilet wouldn't flush at 5:30 am so they gave me a useless plunger. No luck, so I asked to use a public toilet or one in another room. Im really in trouble at this point and the owner pointed to a Taco Bell next door. I said they aren't open and he just shrugged and walked back in his office and closed the door.
