Traditions Soda & Sandwich

This place is living museum of the fabulous history of Garden City, Ks. The original pictures and price board are on display for 5 cent root beers and 19 cent shakes. All of those are featured and made fresh everyday at today's prices of course. Eclectic memorabilia and soda fountain collectibles are on display. The food is fresh, delicious, and fast. The staff is friendly and the proprietor Mike Wade is always on hand with a smile and a helping hand. If you come to Garden City or are a past resident it is a "Must See" place to visit and enjoy!Thanks to Mike and his staff for a memorable experience with every visit.

This is a quaint little place for a decent ice cream treat. Hubby had a chocolate malt and I had the 2 dip banana split. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Would definitely stop again if we ever come back that way.

Step back into time- this adorable soda fountain really takes you back into the 40's and 50's with their decor and original wall art, replicating the original menu. Three words- Birthday. Cake. Milkshake. *gasp* Don't worry, you won't die of diabetes; doesn't everyone have to live a little? Their shakes are prepared just the perfect consistency and oh-so-creamy! (Malt is an option if you like that, too)I ordered the open-face roast beef and mashed potatoes sandwich. Warm, hot, fresh, and filling. Very tasty and homey!Top it all off- the service is fantastic; the wait staff welcome everyone like an old friend. It's no wonder Traditions is the Go-To spot in Garden City. What a gem!

A step back in time. Local old fashion milkshake and soda deli shop. Friendly service, good deli menu options.

Good hamburger and I like the banana splits. You get to choose the different flavored ice cream and toppings.

Was selling some alarms in the town for a couple weeks. Food was great. Atmosphere is way cool. Gives a good small town vibe and the server was super nice. Great bang for buck!

The chubby chucker is amazing. Personally my favorite. The place is super cute. The staff is so friendly. That's my to go place.

My family loves Traditions! The Big Bopper and the Chubby Checker are our favorite sandwiches! The wait staff is always cheerful and friendly. It's usually packed at lunch time, so it helps to either go early or take a late lunch. The 50s theme provides a neat atmosphere. We definitely give Traditions five stars!

We stopped at diner soda shops across Kansas to to find the best one on our trip, this place by far ranks #1 out of Wichita (milk float, Papas gen store and Old Mill Tasty), Wilson (only diner/ soda shop in town), Salina and Dodge City. My husband had the choc malt and son had the cookies and cream malt, it was the most malt flavor of all of them it was really really good! The waitress and people in town are sooo nice every where we went. Had the club sandwich it wasGood nothing special but good. The malts are the reason for the stop dont miss it!

Fun place to eat! Breaking in a new server but he did fine. Very reasonable prices, worn vintage but clean atmosphere. We will be returning!
