The Smell Well

I purchased two pair of sunglasses and a bottle of oil for burning. I've purchased from this what I thought was a gentleman in the past and have had nothing but good things to say which made me a repeat customer. Until last week I purchased two pair of sunglasses and a bottle of oil intended for burning. When I asked him what he recommended he strongly recommended a scent in which he so happened to sell the body oil for too. Buyer beware.... Whatever this man is recommending is because he's watering it down. This was the 1st time that I've purchased an oil from him that didn't have a slight smoke stemming from it while it burned.... On top of that it had "NO" scent. I was flabbergasted. I assumed it was some type of mistake because I've never experienced this from The Smell Well. Until I went to his shop with my bottle of oil in hand that had no smell and no burning characteristics and he explained to me he doesn't do refunds or exchanges. He then went on to say that he would give me the smallest bottle that he has in exchange for the largest bottle that he has sold to me. I explained to him that was unacceptable. I then thought to myself once I ask him to burn it himself to see for himself that he would reconsider. I tried handing him the bottle and he wouldn't accept it let alone test it to see my claim. He stuck to his word and said he wouldn't do a fair exchange. I said to him "No disrespect, but if you don't make this right then I'll take that little ass bottle that you're offering me and never return again over a $6.00 bottle of oil or whatever it cost. He let me walk out the door. I will be certain to let people know what they're dealing with with a black owned business in our community that's taking advantage of us with a watered down product. Go to the mall and buy your oil. I guarantee they'll stand behind it. SAD!

I shopped here a few years ago and the experience left such an impact, I still think of it til this day. Home from California for a funeral, I was desperate for a charger after arriving to Wichita via plane and realizing I'd forgotten mine. The owner/manager sensed my urgency and charged me almost double the normal price. It hurt my feelings to know this was someone who embraced islam, a religion I was studying at that time, was so quick to take advantage of Anyone, let alone myself. I paid and tried to leave it in the past. But my gut tells me that this is the worst form of racism. Self hate. Do not shop here. These stores are predators of the black community and need to be shut. Down. What's more important, the owners 1 family, or the hundreds of familys living off of 21st st?

My experience today was educational and refreshing. I went in for business and came out with some pleasure items!! I chose the Sents Ruby orchid for body oil and the fragrance Jazmine in the incent oil, to my surprise there were a lot of other services offered as well like phone repair service and also bill payments. I must say i do enjoy the ruby orchid! I' ll have to ask my mom about the Jazmine incent oil overall it was a good experience.

The owner is super nice and knows his stuff! I will never buy a fragrance in a department store again. Affordable and great quality.
