Let me start this review off with a disclaimer: I don't like wine. Now that that's out of the way... how did I find myself in the middle of nowhere Peculiar, MO at a winery when I'm not a wine drinker? If you see my profile, my home is on wheels... and we needed an overnight stop on our way to our next destination, so I turned to Harvest Hosts and discovered this gem of a place. The owner was delightful. Fun, engaging, knowledgeable and a good storyteller. (We LOVE good storytellers!)The grounds are gorgeous. If you're there in the evening, be sure to step outside and see the sunset! And the wine? Well, I DID taste it... and I've never had a wine slushie so...OH. MY. GOD.The slushie. I could potentially become a day drinker if more people make slushies like that! It was passionfruit (so fresh it wasn't even on the menu yet) and it was epic!Couple that with the locally-made summer sausage & cheese tray and, well, I had wine, cheese & sausage for dinner. And it was delicious!

I've been here before. Nice little winery. Had a bottle of Voodoo wine which was pretty good. Two mixed slushes with peach and blackberry were very good. Gumbofest celebration was fun and gumbo wasn't bad either.

An updated review is long overdue...I come here at least 5 or 6 times a year. It's my favorite spot to meet for with business colleagues... I'd much rather have a late afternoon glass of wine than another coffee meetup!! Afternoons here are great, not very busy, plenty of parking and they play great music. Today it's a cold January day and the fireplace is keeping the leather sofa seating area nice and toasty.I'm a sucker for the Lime and Peculiarita wines... Pucker up and enjoy! I've brought some out of town wine connoisseurs and had mixed reviews but in the end they all found a variety they loved.

We came for their Gumbofest to celebrate Mardi Gras. A big bowl of gumbo was perfect for a gloomy February afternoon. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming. I don't know if I picked the best wine as I didn't care for it however I am more than willing to come back and try again.

This is a MISSOURI WINERY in the small town where I raised my 4 kids; YES, Peculiar Missouri!Go for the music, pizza, delightful staff and the frozen wine, in particular. Delight in bottles of fun fruity wines with hilarious names & go back often for the feel-good vibe of this place. They often feature live music. From 1-2 balladeers to talented multi-instrument bands, Peculiar Winery offers live music in any weather! THIS place is a wonderful comfort spot for old friends and welcomed new friends. Ask for server Shelley but they are all as nice as they can be!

This rural winery has a gorgeous tasting room with a cozy fireplace and seating areas for small groups. Their all weather patio is bright and breezy in the warm spring/summer months and perfectly cozy in fall/winter! They host local musicians and often have food trucks. *Kid friendly too.Today I enjoyed a raspberry- peach wine slushy a perfect blend of sweet and sour. Not a fan of Missouri wine? No worries over 20 beers to choose from. Oh and they serve Shakespeares pizza and other charcuterie snacks.

The staff is very nice and the place is beautiful but maybe less classy than some other wineries. It's very casual. I tried a wine tasting and was disappointed to see the wine was served in little plastic cups. Like the ones you might use for Jell-O shots. I was pretty concerned when looking at the wine menu because I didn't see any of the normal names I knew. I think all of the wine was like fruit wine? Even the wines they had listed as dry were some of the sweetest wines I'd ever tasted. So I couldn't finish the others that were semi-sweet or sweet. They also had a meat and cheese tray for $16 but it had one kind of meat which was like a sausage still in the packaging and one kind of cheese of some block variety. The crackers they served with it were ritz crackers still in the sleeve. I feel bad leaving such a low score because of the wine since it's more my taste but I wish they used actual glasses and maybe had better food presentation. They should probably label all of their wine as sweet as well haha.

I'm so glad we stopped here. I've driven by the exit countless times and have never had an opportunity to stop. On our way back from a float trip this past weekend we finally made the call to pull over for some Sunday wine and we ultimately not disappointed. First of all, the barn, both inside and outside is gorgeous. I would recommend you come here just for this. The wine on the other hand was not as great. It was pretty typical of Missouri wine, in that even the "dry" wines had a sweet smell/taste. If they didn't taste sweet, there were more bitter than they were dry. The selection of fruit wines were definitely unique. Not drinkable for a full glass, in my opinion, but we learned that their inclusion in the wine slushies made for some of the yummiest slushies I've had in a while. They have live music every weekend and food trucks on Fridays and Saturdays. It's spacious and you can tell that the people working there are happy to be there and help you. Check it out! It's not far off the highway at all and perfect on your way to or from a fun lake trip.

Ambiance is very inviting and they have a lot of events. Out of all the wines we tried, we only really liked one. As far as food, the charcuterie board was not impressive. Everything comes in it's package and we had to open, cut and prep our own board on a paper plate. The service was friendly and welcoming.
