The Lodge at Lake Wabaunsee-Wild Olives

Tasty food. Nice, rustic ambience. Good waiter. We enjoyed our evening and they were busy too! We'll be back.

This was my first time here. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would, but I suppose there isn't any reason to not give four. I ordered a burger and mashed potatoes. I was with my parents and they ordered chicken tenders and a ribeye with a baked potato. My burger was satisfactory. The bun was good, and my dad agrees with that from his previous visits. My parents were quite upset about the time it took for the check to arrive/finalize paying. Other than that, our service was not too bad. That being said, my parents, who live in the area, will probably choose to go to El Corral in Alma over Wild Olives. ******UPDATE: went for my second visit tonight. Was there with my parents and fiancé. Ordered the same thing I did the first time I went. The food was good again, and the service was better! My mother ordered the fried hotdog and she reports it wasn't much different from a regular hotdog, and she liked it. We ordered chips and dip before our meal as well. Perhaps I was too harsh with my first review.

Great food. Catfish was perfect. Steak was tender. Great for kids. Kids meal is anything on the menu in a kids size for $5.

My husband and I celebrated out 36 wedding anniversary last week. We didn't have time to celebrate until the weekend, which landed us at the Wild Olives at Lake Wabaunsee. We showed up around 7:30 and the place was packed. After a short wait we were seated and enjoyed a delicious steak dinner. We both thought our steaks were perfect! Our appetizer of fried Okra was a treat too. If you haven't checked out this hidden gem you are missing out! -John and Tammy Marrs

I have been here 3 times. It gets better with each visit. The first two times it was at peak times. The third time it was on Wednesday for All You Can Eat Chicken. Any problems are addressed and I am a firm supporter of local businesses. Their food is very good, the service has improved greatly, the prices are fair, the quality stands out and I shall return. It is worth a visit.
