The Friendly Cooker

We stopped through town just to take a quick walk down the Yellow Brick Road alley. As we were heading back to our car, a family came out of the restaurant and the kids were talking about it being good. It was close to lunch time so we decided to ahead and stop in.It was probably around 11am when we got there, so the breakfast crowd was kind of leaving and the after-church people hadn't gotten there yet so it wasn't very busy at all.We decided to both order taco salad and we were both so pleased. Of course, it came with something like Pace Picante sauce, but if you overlook that, the rest was really tasty. The hamburger/taco meat was so flavorful. We really ate every last bite.We had attentive service too.The temperature in the place was a little chilly, but I'm sure the fact that there weren't many patrons there at the moment made it cooler.

This was a great little stop after the Oz Museum. Just follow the yellow brick road. We were going to sit at the picnic tables, because we have a dog, but we're invited to sit on the front porch instead. Very pleasant. Just like eating on Grandma's porch. The food was delicious. I had the brisket sandwich and salad. Loved the bun. My husband had the cheeseburger. It was good and plentiful. We also purchased items from the bakery. All were delicious.

Good long time local diner. Good food and good service. Open face roast beef very good. Nothing fancy!

We stopped here after the Oz museum. There is not many choices in town. The place was ok. The food just your average diner food. Honestly not anything memorable about the food or the waitstaff.

Cafe was clean and food was pretty decent. A simple menu, which I prefer as usually fewer items are easier to keep doing well. I was disappointed the chicken fried steak and the pork tenders are purchased pre-made and frozen, and not made in house as that's why I went to diner to try. I opted for a burger after waitress explained. Personally I believe a good diner with small menu could really be phenomenal with scratch made comfort food, but that is getting harder to find now. I probably would go back, but $15 for a burger, tots, and water with tip most likely would be for breakfast.

A nice place with basic food. We were the only non- locals in the place. We were lucky to be there on Wednesday which is baking day. We had some terrific homemade pie, mine gooseberry, my husband's strawberry rhubarb. Delicious

Great food and very good prices. Friendly staff and food was ready for pick up when promised. We are from out of town and always like to try local diners and this one did not disappoint.

This places food is really good. I love the service, they are always ready for people to come in.

Only place in town that was open on New Year's Day and they had nice warm cinnamon roles. Owner was friendly.

Super good food, super cute place. Loved the small town diner feel!
