I was in town for a wedding and needed some hair help. Lydia and Lisa were able to fit us in and did a fantastic job. Lydia listened to my needs and desires regarding how I wanted my hair cut and the color I wanted. She was spot on with her service and I walked away very satisfied. Lisa did two of my nephew's haircuts and they looked "cool" and mom approved. I love the atmosphere of the salon. Very relaxed and the stylists are real people. No pomp and circumstance here but lots of chill professionals.

5 Huge, Enormous Stars!!I just moved here from Virginia & have been slowly finding things for my own needs - dog groomers, doctors, places to eat & get gas...Today it was my turn to get a hair cut & color. Yelp to the rescue!The name of this place was attractive to me, because I am a circus buff (and author of a circus book). So I looked at the reviews and all the fabulous pictures of hair here on Yelp, and took a chance.I called & made an appointment. I think it was with Lydia over the phone, and I went in today, for my appointment. We chatted. I like to give the basics about my hair & broad goals and tell my lady to just have fun. I told her about my trichtotillomania. I told her about my own color jobs - my roots were showing. The previous job was showing, and the very light ends were most of my head. The trichtotillomania had grown out in places on the top of my head and needed to be blended in so they would hide. I have previously had a wonderful hair dresser cut my hair very short (which I am okay with) to hide the ends I have pulled out. I am with a new partner who likes me to have long hair, so Lydia decided on a multi-layer haircut.And I told her I like ash blonde and pink and lavender / light purple. She went with darker roots to match my own roots "so it will grow out nicely" and she added pink and purple to the tips. There were 4 colors going on my head to make this happen!!1 color for the roots, pink, light purple, and ash blonde for the ends of my hair. She did such a phenomenal job!! Worth every penny. I will definitely be going back and asking for Lydia the Tattooed Lady at The Bearded Lady Salon in Wichita. PS: There is also a super sweet dog here named Gretel. Gretel and I had a nice moment where I was petting her and she stayed with me so long as I was petting her. What a love bug she is.

I started going here a couple years back and I've always gotten great and quick service. They've been great about recommending the right Aveda product for my hair, which was super damaged before I started coming here. I wouldn't trust anyone else to cut and color my hair.

I've been searching for a colorist who is capable and willing to lighten my hair and after 5 years of living in Wichita, I have finally found the one. Elizabeth is AMAZING! I've had 4 treatments and each time, I'm loving my hair color. The products she recommended (Aveda) are phenomenal. My hair is so soft and shiny. I can't wait to see what color my hair is the next time I see her. I've gotten so many compliments. I wished I had discovered her when I first moved here but now I know who I'm going to.

The salon is awesome. It's an avada salon so all natural products. Not one of loud "energizing" places! Calm nice Indy style music, diffuser, stylists quiet and calm. I took my 9yr old grand daughter and Carolyn knew immediately the type of style she wanted and had her cut before I could upload the before picture. For me her choice of color was a bit bolder than I would choose on my own but I love it!! I definitely have a new stylist. Also reasonably priced and great location on west street!

I love this salon! Elizabeth is awesome! And the other staff members are friendly & accommodating!

If you want a rushed, botched cut and dye job, then this is the place for you. I asked for partial highlights and 3in off of the length and layered, textured hair with a side bang. My cousin wanted a partial highlight. They booked us at the same time and we thought we'd have 2 different hairdressers...no. One lady did us both and rushed the WHOLE time. Her color application and cutting technique were unlike anything I've ever seen. I walked out with SPOTS of blonde and a very uneven cut! My bangs looked like a 6 year old experimented with scissors on them and when I asked her to texture, she grabbed handfuls of my hair and just started chopping! When she was blow drying my hair, she didn't even comb my hair, she was just waving the hair dryer all over my head until it was dry. I went to get my hair corrected and i had to get ANOTHER 3in chopped off to even it all out. My cousins hair ended up DARKER than what she walked in with and any highlights you COULD see were spotty and she ended up with ONE chunk of hair that was BRIGHT blonde!! Im not sure what her name was but she said she had 20+ years experience! Time to hang it up

My wife loves this place. Affordable, friendly, and relaxed. I went with her the other day and I got a quick trim. Great vibe and it's right next to one of our favorite Italian places in Wichita! If you like your salon experience to be relaxed, stress free, and with decent music, I'd recommend checking this place out. Thanks again for always taking care of my lady and sending her off happy every time!

I went to them to try some where new and now I am hooked. Liz does my hair. I live on the opposite side of town but when I have a special occasion I have Liz do my hair, she knows how to bring out the natural curl I have and my hair is nice and full. She is great.
