The Barrister's Bar & Judge's Grill

I work there so I know people are going to think I'm biased but I'm not the food is incredible I love the atmosphere and the people and when I'm not working I'm going there anyways. I I like the fact it's a little bit of big city in a little town. Great concept great foodOh great staff in great environment

The atmosphere of this place is something you wouldn't expect to have in Russell, Ks. The food is unique and a refreshing option in an area of Kansas where most restaurants serve more farm/home cooked style meals. With that being said, the portions are small for the price and, for instance, I had the Drunk Tank burger ($14) and a side of fries would have been an additional ($4). The day before I had a Black and Blue full sized salad for ($19). That's quite a bit of money for the people in the area. I was only able to eat half the burger but the salad left me hungry.All in all, I loved the atmosphere, the food was phenomenal and the service was great. I just couldn't give it 5 stars due to it being so expensive. I would definitely recommend trying it! PS. I LOVE the snarky humor of the owners. I'd love to be friends with them, I'm sure they'd be really fun to hang out with!

Pretty cool building. The girl working the bar was friendly and gave her recommendations. Cheap domestic pours and the food was reasonably priced.

1st visit with a coworker who has visited before. Great vibe. Casual, comfortable, interesting. Shishito pepper appetizer is on lots of other restaurants' menus, but this is the best version I've had. The Domestic Battery burger was ridiculous! If you like garlic and onions, it won't disappoint. The flavor was not over the top, nice balance, big burger but good enough to eat more than you should! Great fries, too. Service was friendly, good suggestions. Welcome addition to Russell.

Closed. This establishment is no longer in business. It has attempted different approaches to cuisine, but has spectacularly failed.at each.

The food I s better than anything else here or in Hays. The Mac and cheese balls rule! Everything is very tasty. The Flatbread could use a little more oven heat. Didn't stay too crusty on the bottom. Service needs another week or two to iron out the kinks!Great!!!!

Everything I've had here has been exceptional! Service is terrific, staff are friendly. Love the atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by!
