The Anchor

Another amazing yelp find! I was searching for burgers in the Wichita area. Reviews led me to this place. Thank her with everything the reviews said. I sat at the bar, the service was impeccable. I had one of the mini great local beers I'll tap.I got the Burn Baby Burn based on a recommendation from the bartender. It was amazing! The cornbread was amazing with a perfectly cooked burger. The fries and chili were great too.A great bar with amazing food in Wichita!

Food: The food was good. My fish and chips were well cooked and arrived piping hot. My husband's chicken fingers were flavorful and the fries were stacked high. The consensus between us is that we would go again if we wanted decent bar food. It isn't the best bar in Wichita but it does scratch an unusual itch. Service: 3/5 The service was just ok. Our server was young and inexperienced but nice and willing to find out the answers to our questions even if they didn't know themselves. The section of beer was impressive and extensive. Ambiance: 3/5 This is not quite your typical Wichita bar, it felt a little more zany, more current, more like a bar you would see in a larger city. This was welcome and also a bit off putting. The vague nautical theme was not hit hard enough and didn't make a lot of sense other than as a means to an end.

Last night, a friend and I went to The Anchor. I had not been back since the remodel was complete. To start, they did an awesome job opening up the restaurant and keeping it classy. Very comfortable environment to visit in.Next up food, I kept it simple since I wasn't very hungry. My order was a bacon cheese burger. Cooked exactly how I requested and with crisp bacon. Fries were also perfectly crisp.Now, the service. I don't even know how to rate our server. She was off the charts good. She was friendly, helpful, and interactive. Her advice was spot on. She is the reason I got perfectly crisp fries as she rejected the first ones.

Great service and food was yummy. I had the reuben and it was delicious! My husband had the wings and he enjoyed them.

Tons of good food options. We had both the loaded fries and fried mozzarella cheese for starters both were fantastic! My daughters both had a sandwich and I had the haystack burger, it was very good. Highly recommend!

My 2nd time here on a short trip back to Wichita. Food is hit and fresh every time!!! I recommend this place all the time. My server was funny and attentive. It's a bar so the ambiance can be high volume from time to time but you'll blend in.

The burgers were amazing, though the wait time was long, especially since I visited during a busy period. I would recommend this location to friends who are visiting.

So glad to have the Anchor back open. I have fantastic memories about this spot dating back to when Shane opened it many moons ago. I like the new layout for the most part. I probably would've gone with a brick half wall down the center to stick with the historic look versus the diner style drywall half wall, but that's just me being picky. The menu has lots of the old favorites. My buddy had the brat burger and he says it's worth fighting over. I tried the ad Astra fish and chips. There was a little issue with the doneness of my fish but the batter is kick ass and Shane made it all right. She's a rockstar The tap beer selection is still top-notch, one of the best in Wichita. I recommend them with five stars. Go enjoy a kick ass meal and the delicious drinks at one of the best local owned restaurants in town.

Excellent food! Salads fresh and great dressing, entrees were excellent- blue burger, cheesesteak spicy sandwich was amazing!!!! Home made chips and fries also a go to! Bathrooms and facility super clean !

I'm not writing this because I wanted to be that guy and leave a bad review, I generally am just happy to be eating at a restaurant and having an adult beverage. It was empty when we arrived at 5pm. Somehow it took like 12 minutes to figure out where to seat us.The service was....odd. They took 2 drink orders at a time and walked away. So ordering drinks took about 3.5-4 trips from the server to get everyone an order.My wife ordered an on tap margarita that took 57 minutes to arrive. From the time we ordered to the time the food arrived was about an hour (it's burgers, fries and wings, not Michelin star white tablecloth type fare).It arrived cold so I assume the server just sort of forgot the order was up. The wings and burgers were way overcooked which is legitimately hard to do.My club sandwich was fine, not great but hard to mess that up.The beer was cold and the check was fast so that was a positive. Was disappointed because I used to enjoy The Anchor a lot but probably won't return.1/5. Not great.
