Tanganyika is the place to visit if you love animals. Like love-love them so much that you want to feed them and pet them and be in their living spaces. This animal park lets you get up-close and personal with many of their animals. At Tanganyika Wildlife Park, you can mingle with lemurs, get face-to-face with sloths, pet kangaroos, feed giraffes, swim with penguins and so much more. This interactive, hands-on animal park also has a huge playground and splash pad that's open during the warmer months. There are some animals -- like the tigers and monkeys -- that you cannot pet, but they're fun to observe safely from behind a fence. The animal living spaces and clean and tidy, and the animals look healthy and happy. When I visited, I got to meet a penguin, sloth and lemur. All of the people who handled the animals were kind to the animals and also us visitors. I could tell that their priority was to make sure the animals were comfortable, which was nice to see. The park isn't overwhelmingly large, and you could probably get through it in about an hour or less, or if you wanted to stay longer and play on the playground or at the splash pad, you could make a day of this place. They also have a canteen that offers full meals like sandwiches, chicken strips with fries, and kids meals. You can also get frozen adult beverages, like margaritas and sangria, as well as local beer on tap.

What a super fun place to bring the kids. The fact that they get to feed 5 different animals is amazing. An experience they will never forget. It's a bit on the pricy side, but totally worth it. Please come by and show your support for this fantastic place. We were in town visiting family and decided to stop by. The place is clean and staff is friendly. Not to impressed with the food court, but hey, it's ok

Coming from KC, my boyfriend and I decided to give this park a try and do a day visit during the weekend. We were so glad we did. Pulling up to the park, it doesn't seem like much, but when you start to walk around the you realize that there is so much more to Tanganyika than other traditional parks. We purchased the penguin meet & greet along with a day pass and arrived around 12:30. The penguin meet and greet lasted for 30 minutes where I got to pet a penguin and got several cute pictures too! The day pass of the park includes 5 feedings of your choice of animals. We chose the tortoises, lemurs, lorikeets, giraffes and guinea pigs. The park also offers interactive exhibits where you can do things like pet kangaroos and so much more.We spent a little over 4 hours total in the park and were so pleased with our experience. Not to mention how friendly, helpful, and knowledge all of the staff that work here are. If you're wanting a fun day trip, highly recommend checking out Tanganyika Wildlife Park !

It's interactive wildlife fun! And I came a long way (and spent a lot $$$) to experience it. All things considered, my first trip to Kansas was worth it all. Park Entrance /Experiences Cost: $202.11Experience 1: Otters (3 brothers)Experience 2: Sloths (2)Feeding Tickets: 5 animals Parking: freeLocation: Goddard, KS (easy 20 min drive from Wichita, Ks)Lots of caring, compassionate people work here taking care of a huge menagerie. Large animals (rhinos, giraffes, zebras, etc) medium and small, too. Even farm animals (goats). There's even a playground area for the little ones. If the little ones get hungry (or big ones too), there's an outdoor cafe serving simple fare at a reasonable price. But I was here for the hands-on, up close animal experiences (with some otters and then some sloths). For 30 minutes with each, we were allowed to hand feed the animals, pet and take pics/video with them. We even got to see them do "tricks" they were taught to aid in their care. So interesting, informative, and fun!! Check it out!

Absolutely amazing place, a must come for anywhere near Kansas. First of all, the work that they are doing for animal conservation is amazing. They have many successful endangered and critically endangered animal breeding projects! The employees/caretakers are super nice and helpful. I haven't even started on all the animals yet. They have a good bunch of animals, but a lot are behind the scenes, so you definitely have to book some excursions, they aren't cheap, but super worth it! You can swim with penguins there, do meet and greets with almost any animals that you can imagine, and go behind the scenes to really meet the animals, a lot of the animals can/will paint for you. I asked for a feather of my favorite bird (Victoria's Crowned Pigeon) and since that was against park rules, they went out of there way to get me up close to the birds, we got a private tour of the bird room and got to meet the Victoria's Crowned Pigeons, and I got to see a feather, I was very pleased. If you go you have to visit the white-faced saki monkeys, they look hilarious, no offence to all you white-faced saki's out there. I highly suggest doing the bongo behind the scenes where the bongos paint you a picture that you keep! They have been very successful with breeding these highly endangered antelopes. At the end of the day, all I can say is that you need to come to Tanganyika and visit all of their amazing monkeys, hippos, and penguins, I will definitely be back next year! Also I'd like to give a big thanks to Taylor and all of the other helpful guides that assisted us!

We love the animal feedings, especially the lemurs! The extra interactions you can add change periodically, so if one comes up that you would like, better do it before it changes. Also, food and drink can be spendy here, but they aren't government subsidized, so the money you pay keeps the park running. Great place!

We had a great time!!!! It was a very very hot day, so we didn't spend as much time as we would have normally. Bought the unlimited pass, which I would recommend. My kids loved interacting we the kangaroos and lorikeets. They and I enjoyed feeding the different animals. Splash pad looked very enticing for our hot day, but we decided to not do it.

Honestly one of the best days I ever had. We had an absolute blast at Tanganyika and I cannot recommend this place more highly. The animal ambassadors were informative and helpful and you really could feel the passion and love they have for these animals. I also liked that they had natural barriers for some animals where they good (for example the gibbons were surrounded by a moat rather than being in a small cage) I felt the animals had ample space to roam which really meant a lot to me (I see a lot of places with poor animals pacing around that I'm a bit hesitant to frequent zoos Aquariums etc.) but I really felt this establishment was different. We purchased Best Day Passes which were expensive about $200 each but I personally felt they were worth the money as I truly felt I had once in a lifetime experiences here. We spent the entire day here until I had to catch my flight back home. If you're in the Wichita area and are looking for a unique once in a lifetime series of experiences please pay this place a visit, you won't regret it!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this interactive zoo.We opted to purchase the unlimited pass so we didn't have to worry about scheduling animal encounters and wanted the perks of repeating anything we found extra memorable. This ended up being a good choice as I heard several people in lines we were in say the encounter had sold out and they weren't able to attend the session during that time. We also ended up repeating some of the animal encounters so that was a bonus! We did stop for lunch and found enough items on the menu to satisfy everyone. The prices were very reasonable. Kids meals were around $6, I snagged nachos for $2.99 and my husband ate a turkey sandwich for around $7.Since the weather was a bit cool when we arrived right at 10 am (50 deg.) I was worried the animals may not be out. I was pleasantly surprised to find all animals out with the exception of the tortoises which made an appearance around 12 when the temperate rose to about 57 degrees. There are a variety of animals to see from different kinds of primates, cat family, kangaroos, giraffes, camels, zebras etc.Total time we spent at the zoo was around 5.5 hours with 1 hour of that being a sloth experience. Sloth experience was well worth the extra money and I'm very glad we decided to do it. We went on a Sunday so there weren't too many people. The longest line we waited in was about 15 minutes for all encounters. The front gate entry was about 10 minutes. We did have to wait in line even though we purchased our tickets online but that was not an issue for us.All employees at each station were very courteous and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all of our questions about the animals even the ones that weren't at that particular station. Overall a great experience and very happy to have this memory.
