Sunflower Soda Fountain

I was excited to try this place after family members raved about how cute it is. What a disappointment. On a 1pm visit we were greeted (after a substantial wait and others who came in after us being tended to before us) with "we're out of burgers and out of fries". Allrighty. So once we spent 10 minutes waiting for a waitress to take our order, the surliest one in the building comes back to startle my 93 year old grandmother and proceed to be completely put out by having to wait on us. Seriously-if you hate your job this much, please go somewhere else and get your sour face out of my lunch. My BLT was served on ROCK HARD pumpernickel (not toasted, not grilled, just hard, old bread). 2 pieces of undercooked bacon. No sides. Pitiful. Grandma's half ruben sandwich seemed to be OK, though they ended up bringing potato salad we were told "we're out of" after all. Had planned to order pie (who doesn't love pie!) but after hearing one waitress tell the next table over everything they're out of and being thoroughly unimpressed with the meal, we decided to have dessert at home instead. Skip this stinker and visit any chain restaurant in this town for a better experience. The one star is for the ONE waitress and employee we saw out of about 6 who was friendly and seemed to care. Otherwise, this would be a one star review.

Not impressed. I'd give it no stars if I could. My wife and I were the only customers in the facility this morning and after we got water we sat for twenty minutes waiting on the waitress to return. The waitresses were making eye contact, seeing we were obviously ready for service and surely seeing my frustration. Finally we stood up and I kindly said "have a nice day" and they returned the sentiment with no sounds of concern or regret. Great way to run a business. I wonder why we were the only customers this morning and why previous conversations with the vehicle tag office across the street were reserved in response to the quality of service of the eatery when I had enquired info. I hope the owners read this because I'd be interested to know if their young employees might decidedly need some retraining on hospitality towards their customers especially when the business is very slow only housing two customers.

We stopped here on a road trip. It was a pleasant surprise. Everything was yummy and they hustled to accommodate our table of 12.
