Excellent! If you don't want the mess of frying chicken and want it like grandma made, then this is the place to go. The mashed potatoes/gravy was homemade. Green beans were delicious, cooked with onion and bacon. Cinnamon Rolls don't look like your typical cinnamon roll but don't that deceive you, these cinnamon rolls are delicious and just the right size. Served warm make them hard to resist.Also enjoyed the cozy environment of the restaurant.

**UPDATE 03/03/25**My husband and I both got sick after eating here.03/01/24 - This used to be my FAVORITE place to eat. However today's experience made it one of my least favorite. Took an hour and a half to get food. That's from parking to waiting for a table (told 15 minutes) to waiting for food. They apparently don't have a busser and make the host do it, which leaves a line of people waiting to get put on the waitlist. They do have a bar you can order at....if you can find the bartender. 20+ minutes and finally found a rather rude bartender willing to make us a drink while we waited. The food has gone downhill. I know it's been a while since I've been here but the Gravy used to be the best part of the meal, now its the worst. The saving grace was our actual waitress. She was friendly and pleasant and quick when she was able to be. The cinnamon rolls still are delicious and one out of 3 chicken breast's was great.

The place to go if you like fried chicken. Granted it's not the least expensive, but in Wichita it's still the best we've found. Large pieces pan fried to order. We typically get the three piece dinner and end up taking one piece home.

We got there right at opening and were sat immediately.I don't know if they're understaffed or what but service was SO S L O W! It took forever to get drinks and order an appetizer. And the appetizer was just dumped on the table without any plates and there was so way to share. Our server finally came back and we were able to ask for some.Again our server disappeared and it was forever before we could order our food. I understand it takes a while for food to arrive but salads took a while after ordering.The food is fine. It's obviously made in house and fresh, but it lacks seasoning and flavor. The chicken fried steak was soggy and the crust needed better flavor. The steak was fine.For what you get and the service this place is WAY over priced. We also didn't receive any dinner rolls which they list in the menu. Our server didn't return until we finished our meals so we didn't ask about them.There are rips in the carpet and generally the place looks old and unkempt. If you want to spend that much money please go elsewhere.

In the past, Stroud's has been a favorite. Unfortunately, our last visit was extremely disappointing. To start on a positive note, our server was friendly and attentive. No issues with her at all. The food was, unfortunately, a letdown. My wife and I split their chicken fried breast dinner. The chicken portion was much smaller than in the past, and it was kind of bland. The sides were good, and their cinnamon rolls were fresh as well. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for them.

Growing up in Kansas City, Stroud's was an all time favorite. While this isn't the Oak Ridge Manor location, it is a taste of home. We were able to sit right down, as there were only a few patrons in the restaurant. The food was wonderful, service was great. Will continue to visit when we are passing through Wichita.

It's a rustic little restaurant on Wichita out in nomads land. The inside reminded me of a country barn. I wasn't sure of what I expected so I went in with an open mind. The staff was very nice and to be honest I was excited to see many poc working there. I got excited for the food@@ my counterpart ordered the fried pork chop with mash potatoes and gravy along with a side salad. i ordered the fried chicken with baked potato. We received green beans with our order also. Mmmm... absolutely no seasoning. And the pork chopped was not tender. Overcooked/ fried. My chicken didn't have any seasoni at all. My baked potato was also bland. Nothing was seasoned. Highly disappointed.

We had reservations for a party of 12 for 6:00 p.m. we did not get our food until 7:40 p.m., and our mashed potatoes and gravy was barely warm. The pieces of chicken were tiny. Our server was rude and we will NEVER go back!

The chicken is amazing.It takes a little longer to get it but it's worth the wait.It was not even busy and still takes a while but the quality is there .

Manager was rude food was over cooked, burnt then when we asked for something different the manager got an attitude charge us for two meals we ended paying over 200.00 when only the sides were edible. If you eat there sick with the dry chicken it's the only thing that is good enough to eat. If you complain you will get horrible service from the manager. Given one person in the party pulled her fish completely apart trying to find the fish so her plate was a pile of crumbs but she not actually eat any part of the fish. My aunt pulled back the crust and ate the center of the fish the complained. I broke off the tip took one bite could tell it was burnt did not eat anything else and was only going to fill up on the sides since the green beans were delicious. So when she offered up chicken at first I didn't indulge because of her attitude but then I said as you can see I did not eat my fish my I have some chicken as well and she said ok who all wants chicken and three more people said I do which out of a party of seven five people switched to chicken we were expecting to for one or the other she charged us for both. We paid 24 each for three wings not even the wing that has part of the breast attached just three small regular wings, that you would cook at home. Then my mother got sick at the restaurant and my niece has been sick all night and this morning with diarrhea. Because they ate the whole catfish and did not change their order. The only two people who didn't change to the chicken got sick. Strouds should be ashamed. Plus before we could make it out of the restaurant the manager is playing with a baby behind the bar while tending the bar. Is this not illegal. Do they not know how to run a restaurant won't be back.
