Stardust Motel

Found this hotel while traveling across the country with my kids and dog. Won't say the name of the site but a very reputable company who usually never lets me down. However this was a completely different place from their ad that I found. This is one of the scariest dirty places I've ever made a reservation for in my life. We pulled into the parking lot not only confused but disgusted looked like a place people rent for the month you could tell the curtains weren't even hanging up correctly. I went to go check in and couldn't even get in the building without ringing the bell and wait while being watched on a security camera. After I checked in my room was across the street and parking was on the side rock parking with no lights and not so safe area. My key didn't fit so we had to cross the street in the dark than the manger seen my dog and told me they don't accept pets! I told them that I called prior to booking and there ad said dogs allowed! He said no it was a mistake and points to a sign above the door that said no dogs! So we had to sit in this dark parking lot trying to get the website to cancel my reservation and get my money back they called the motel and they said they do take pets I just didn't tell them. Luckily I got my money back but this hotel is not worth $91. Luckily we found a Hampton for $10 more but had to drive 20 minutes.

A Halloween nightmare! We prepaid on booking. Com which this should be removed from their possible location. We got there and we were tired. Went to the checking no one was there, so we called. Reknocked at the door again. A nice but scary gentleman suggested the motel across the street because the woman ran both. So we went and knocked at the door and one answer. Another scary man again nice but scary man said she wasn't there either. So we waited after making a couple more calls, now said mail box was full. The first scary guy came back and said that she was at a haunted house/Halloween party? Really. Still no refund, no room. But this time is was late and the next hotel because I was waiting I ended up having to get 2 rooms to accommodate the first floor I needed and because they had no rooms with to beds so far a very costly frustrated night. Still waiting for my money and I filed a complaint right away! Thanks a lot too Booking.com

They changed the rates after we had called an made a reservation. The rooms are dated and questionably clean. Towels and linen stained, bugs crawling on the floor. One of the worst hotels I've stayed at, definitely regret picking this place simply because it was close to the lake. Sleeping in your car is a better option or find someplace else!
