Stafford Mercantile

Stafford Mercantile is a shop with all the typical things you might find in a discount store. But in the back is what you should travel to see - an old fashioned soda fountain. It is an antique that was refurbished to be added to this store created by locals to serve their needs. There's a counter, booths and a back bar. All are old - not new creations. It's a wonderful stop.

They have an ice cream parlor setup in the back which is really cool and all, however the employees are very much lack luster. They look like young high school students and do not seem like they want to be there. I was expecting old fashion soda shop would serve me in glass dishes, however they reached over and put my two scoops of ice cream in a Styrofoam cup when they had clean dishes right behind him.

It's a little store I guess. As expected everything is very over priced and most of it is cheaper quality. Most of the people in town still make the trip to Pratt to get to Walmart. I doubt this business is open for very long.
