Took some of our Kansas City friends for good Oklahoma barbecue. They thought it was very good and on par with the KC barbecue. Plan to bring them back when they come down again.

Absolutely! Delicious! Great smoke flavor cooked with wood, not pellets! Service on point! Our waitress knew what we wanted before we did. Little hole-in-the-wall... Clean... Worth the drive!

The food overall was good. I definitely could taste the fact that the meats were smoked. The ham was delish and I'm not a ham- person. All smoky and sweet and heavenly. The potato salad was too sweet and not piquant enough. The okra was alright but should have been cooked more. The hush puppies were strangely shaped and rather boring. The Bologna was smoky and to-die for. It was thick cut and yummy. The Polish sausage was good too. The ribs, well, DON'T EAT THE RIBS. They are cherry and stringy and too hard. Two of us got a combo plate which included ribs and one person just got ribs and we all agreed they weren't all that. In fact, if I hadn't wanted to bring them home to my dogs, they probably wouldn't have made the trip home. The iced tea was alright, but definitely was weak. The waitresses were wonderful. It's obvious they have regulars and know their peeps.

This spot is a real gem. The portions are hearty. The drinks are huge. (Non alcoholic) we started off with the calf fried - they were a good consistency and hot! Loved the temp. I ordered the 10.99 special of chopped sirloin, mash potatoes and gravy and green beans. I asked for no onions and the green beans had a little bit of an white onion garnish..not sure if this is a southern thing but I just pushed it aside. Also, the mash were t very hot and that was sort disappointing. The hubs loved the ribs and the hush puppies were a nice surprise. Overall it was a nice experience

I loved the rustic, out west feel of the building and inside. This BBQ place along a lonely highway was packed for Saturday lunch. I ordered a chicken fried steak, fried okra, and a house salad. The Chicken Fried Steak was pan fried, (the way I like it), a bit too salty, and a cheap cut of beef. It's was stringy and a little hard to cut and chew. Over all not too bad but not the best I've had. The okra was just what you would expect. Deep Fried. I enjoyed it. The rolls were soft and store bought. My salad was a plain salad with one cherry tomato and half a boiled egg. Our waitress got slammed with a huge party so I didn't get the normal attention. But that's ok. She was working hard. The whole staff was working like crazy. It's clear that their BBQ is the star of the show at the Smoke Shak.Meat Combo

This place looks good & smells good when you drive up but the food? Very disappointing. I ordered a cheesburger with fried jalapenos & an egg on a bed of lettuce plus fries. I asked that they did not add extra salt when cooking it. After the waitress checked to see if they had the jalapenos that were on the menu we put in our order. We waited while everone else was served & finally it came out. The hamburger was *really* salty,obviously salted during cooking, the "cheese" was a kraft plastic slice not real cheese, the egg was way over cooked so that it smelled burnt, not the lovely runny yolk experience that really makes a burger & the fries were limp & dark brown. My friend had ordered thre same thing to make it easier for them. Hers was just as bad. This meal cost $27 and change for two burgers & fries that were inedible.

I used to really enjoy coming here with my wife: the food was really good and prepared excellently each time we came.Last time I came had to be some time around 2021, but I remember the brisket and homemade rolls paired extremely well with the service and staff.However, upon my most recent visit, I can safely say there's an astronomical difference:The menu called for deep fried pickle spears, yet we were served cold pickles that were sliced. Furthermore, the sandwich I ordered tasted as though it were microwaved, rather than prepared like the brisket they'd previously been famous for.But, as my wife said, "at least the fries were good."

The food is always good and the service comes with a smile. This place is a best kept northwest Oklahoma secret. Gotta try the brisket and sausage and the beans and okra are money.

Our experience was really good! We got the large combo bbq and split. We had 4 ribs, pulled pork and jalapeño cheese sausage. It came with 2 sides we had baked beans and potato salad. All was homemade! Peach cobbler to finish off! We are waddling out!!Jay was our sweet server and she bubbled from greeting us as we walked in "hi! have seat wherever and I'll be right with you" to her checking on us and advising her favorite foods! She was very pleasant and helped make this a great experience!!
