Silver Bell Motel

We have stayed here several times. One of the cleanest motels I've ever stayed in. Very nice lady runs the place. Very small town. Glasses still wrapped in paper like they used to be. i would recommend to anyone looking for lodging. Not a lot to choose from in this area of Kansas but this is by far the best value for your money.

I booked the Silver Bell for my sister & her husband while they were visiting. Longton is the closest place near us with a motel. The room she was given was extremely clean & very well appointed. I was very pleased & so was my sister.

Longton, Kansas is a very small town on the highway. I had not stayed at the Silver Bell Motel before. I have stayed at other small town rural motels so my expectation was low. However, this motel is well maintained and very clean. I had access to WiFi and cable. It was very quiet and peaceful.

This was HORRIBLE!!! I called and made a reservation over the phone 4 months in advance. The owner gave me the room number and the type of room (beds) and took my information. Upon arrival the owner couldn't seem to hear or see very well. She kept saying she didn't see our reservation. I had to point out our name and number that was written in her reservation book. She then told us she didn't have any rooms and we had no place to stay. She then said she'd call us if there was a cancellation but then changed that to ... Oh I already have a wait list ...remember I made this reservation 4 months in advance! She overbooked her motel. According to the locals this is a regular habit of this owner. We had to scramble for a place to stay for two nights! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL! Can't say how the rooms are we never made it past a very elderly hard hearing poor sighted owner with Alzheimer's ... Sad...NEVER AGAIN!
