Usually if someone that is not very tall (or not very well endowed) tries to hit on Barbie, she says "short, stop." She prefers them tall and more endowed, what can I say. She's pretty typical in that regard.So in terms of gas and convenience, this is a great place in the middle of nowhere, which we use once in awhile to get some gas and some convenience store items, because they're considerably cheaper than a lot of other places.We like the Short Stop for this reason and many other reasons. It's in Emporia, a sleepy town on the plains of Kansas that is about halfway between KC and the OK-KS border on 35.We stopped for gas here on a couple of occasions when passing across Kansas and I'm sure there will be more times in the future.

Semi drivers, beware. The only way you can get the fuel price posted on their outdoor sign is to pay cash, and the only way that happens is if you hand them your driver's license or get this, the clerk actually asked me to give her my bank debit card to hold! Yeah right, that sounds like a smart move, giving that over to a total stranger to hang on to for 10 minutes while you leave them alone with it! Theres cameras everywhere so the policy makes no sense and it invites big trouble for the driver. This comes off as a scam to get you in there and then you pay 6 cents more per gallon to use your credit card so that Ms. Employee doesn't get to hold onto your livelihood for the discount. Everyone knows you never hand over sensitive info to a total stranger.
