I haven't been by in too long and I'm going to definitely stop by more often. If you have been by you know that Sakura is a small business with a decent sized dining room for dining in. They serve sushi, various Japanese dishes and they even have a sake bar. When I have dined in the staff were kind and very knowledgeable. We actually learned a lot about sake on our last visit. This review is about last night. The kids wanted ramen and I wanted to try it from a different place. We ordered one of each of the ramen they had, we had the chicken and the pork belly as the protein. We also ordered some takoyaki too. We decided to do takeout and when we called we were informed that we would have a 45-60 minute wait. Not bad for a cold Tuesday night. When the guys got home with our order I was happy to find that our ramen was still hot. Nothing is more annoying than having to reheat food, I'm looking at you Pho restaurants. It was also nice to have utensils and napkins included in the bag.The ramen was so good! Each bowl had a lot of noodles, plenty of meat and a good amount of everything else. This was the most flavorful soup I have had so far and we have had ramen from plenty of restaurants around the city and the country. I'd say that Sakura is tied for first with a ramen place in Lexington KY. We devoured the takoyaki too. The only thing with this was the need to be cooked a little longer as the inside was a little doughy. That's the only problem with the meal. There was plenty of sauce on them and the wonderful chewiness of the octopus. If you have never been to Sakura, give them a try. They have direct competition a few doors down but they do a pretty good ramen and their other stuff is good too. And please remember that they are a small business so if they are busy be patient!

Sakura (original Harry and Rock location) has a soft spot in my heart because it's the first place I ever tried sushi and grew to love it.There are many options to choose from: sushi, noodle dishes, fried rice and what I enjoy the most, the ramen.Their ramen is delicious! I always get the Tonkatsu Curry Ramen. Their perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs and charred pork belly is so tasty! The spicy broth is very flavorful and has a complexity that sets theirs apart from many other restaurants I've tried. The food is always consistent which all diners can appreciate. I also add a tuna or salmon temaki or any of their specialty rolls to enjoy with the ramen. There is only one chef and one front of the house, so the wait will be longer. They are still social distancing with tables which limits capacity. You'll need to arrive we'll before closing time because you may get turned away because the tables are full. The lady who runs the front of the house works very hard and is attentive to the customers needs and ensures they have plenty of water.Price is comparable to other Japanese or sushi restaurants in Wichita. Definitely give them a try!

I've been coming to Sakura for several years now, and the main thing that keeps me coming back beyond the food is the service. This place is run by a husband/wife duo. Even when they are busy they're extremely attentive to their customers, super friendly, and even when I go a long while without coming in they always remember my order when I do eventually return, which is an excellent, personalized touch. My typical order is the pan fried gyoza and tonkotsu miso ramen with pork belly. The broth is always very flavorful, the noodles have the right amount of chew, and the pork belly is absolutely delicious - always well seasoned and tender. Love that the elements are always consistent and tasty, and you actually get quite a bit of food for the price; I almost always have enough ramen for two separate meals. If you're looking to support local, have some excellent ramen, and a nice spot to sit a while and chat with company, I highly recommend giving Sakura a visit.

I've been here a couple times for weekday lunch, and I've been impressed each time. Prices are reasonable, service is prompt, and the food is fresh and delicious. They have some ramen dishes served without broth and some served with, which is nice because most places I've been to only serve the ramen soup. The pork served in the ramen is amazing as well. I'm always happy when I can find a small local place to keep coming back to for a quick lunch!

We visited Sakura, my son and I shared the Hirata Bun appetizer. The bun was absolutely amazing, very tasty. We then had the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen meal with the pork belly. It was the best Ramen I have had in Wichita by far! The service was excellent. I loved the atmosphere. This would be a great date night place!! I would say, this Japanese restaurant is a "Diamond for sure!" I can't wait to go back!

Delicious Japanese food, especially ramen & sushi!!! Both times I've gone, there's only been 1 server so be patient because the food is so worth it. Got the pan-fried gyoza that had the best dipping sauce (literally can drink it), Five Spice Ramen & Spicy Crispy Sake Boats. The ramen wasn't spicy like I thought it'd be lol but the flavor was good! The sushi boats were my favorite - they're like deep pieces of sushi filled with fish & the salmon quality was excellent. I personally enjoyed the sushi boats more than the rolls that I got the first time, their fish quality can't be beat!Highly recommend.

They would change the tip you signed on the receipt. It's hard to find parking spots and the food is pricey. Don't go!!
