Rock Chalk Park

Came for a High School track meet. Great location but although the park has a ton of land - there isn't enough parking to accommodate the many families coming to support their children. There was an area for over flow parking, but it was in pure mud. Vehicles were getting stuck in the mud, big trucks included.Overall, it was nice - parking isn't the best.

This is a venue that makes me want to go back to college again.You could call it a two-in-one (or even a three-in-one if you count the softball field, which I'm not in this review,) but this complex is one of the nicest, modern, fit and most pristine in all of college sports.Starting out, there's a nice big lot to park in. Then you will make your way up to the box office, pay and enter. The soccer field is first and on the left. As you're making your way down the path towards the seats you'll pass the softball field on your right. Here's where it gets cool... once you get to the end of the path you have a couple of options. The first is to turn left and follow the path to the seats. The second is to talk underneath the press box, business offices and in between the concessions and restrooms to the track. Yes, the venue shares facilities, which speaking of, are top of the line.I came for a soccer event and all seating was GA. The seats, not bleachers or benches, but seats are on the west side of the field so even though it was late in the day when the match began the fans didn't have to battle the sun. In fact, we were in the shade for most of the match until sunset. The field is all astroturf, which as a bit of a soccer purist was kind of a bummer, but considering college budgets as well as the Midwest weather during the collegiate soccer season I understand why the University went this route and commend them for providing the best field possible.Like I said above, I wish I could go back to college and if I did I swear I'd be bringing my student ID and seeing as many events here as I could. It is a top notch venue.
