Had Hoffman build my home about 2 years ago. Builder is a joke and crook to say the least. He will brag that he uses good quality supplies but I have paint that is soaking everything up into it so I'm having to primer and paint the whole interior again with better paints. I have floor boards bowing. Paid for oil rubbed bronze and have been finding hardware painted to look oil rubbed My driveway is eroiding away and he said that is normal. The crews he uses does crap work and I would be willing to bet they're not licensed nor specialize in what he hires them to do. Had to visit the build everyday to make sure things were being done correctly and found them doing many things wrong. He charged me for an additional $1200 for sod telling me it took 2 additional pallets of grass. Not knowing the cost of sod I reluctantly paid it but now, but I know cost of sod now and that is incredibly high and kick myself for paying it. He owns the "warranty" service he offers and you will not get any service on anything. Builder didn't put any insulation in the basement, so I have to tear down the walls and put in insulation and when base boards were installed they knocked chunks of of them and puttied it to fix it. When they painted the base boards and done ceiling texture they didn't wipe the base boards down or clean out corners so they paint over dust and junk which now paint is flaking off and will need redone. This has been a very expensive lesson and there are several people in the subdivision that I built in that have bought his houses and have similar horror stories as mine.Hoping this review will help others looking to buy from him to stay away and warn them he shouldn't be in the business....House I know he has built and up for sale at this very moment is 737 E Sprucewood Cir Park City, KS 67147.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, let him build your home! We regret using him. He goes the cheapest way possible, ie: watered down paint, horrible leveling of yard and placement of sod, etc. He never completed the punch list of items that needed to be completed or fixed. He never returns phone calls. He is a very shoddy business man. So much so that he is not allowed to build in my addition anymore. He has been banned. Save yourself a lot of heartache and frustration and find a different builder. I wish we would have.

Rick Hoffman built our home 2 years ago. Since then it has been one thing after another. Rick Hoffman does NOT build a home that will last and I am nervous to see how soon I will be dumping money into my new home to fix major issues. Rick Hoffman is only about saving himself a few dollars so he can charge them back to you. The work of his crew and his professionalism are proof of that. The following issues below are a few we found during the first year, all of which should have been covered in the warranty.- During the building process, his building crew took a month long vacation while our house sat with no roof collecting rain water on the sub-floor and basement. That warped sub-floor wasn't replaced and now adds to the uneven floor in our house.- Wood floor is wiggling loose and warping because of the shoddy work and above stated. Never fixed.- The grout used for the tiles was of poor quality and released the grip to the tile causing it to come loose resulting in a few broken tiles. Took almost a year to have him send someone out for repair. When he did send his repair guy out, he admitted the glue was bad and he had mentioned it to Rick multiple times. - Front door warped and the wood separated from the glass. This was never repaired and after a 1 year run around, he told me the door isn't covered by the warranty because I had a storm door installed.- I had a storm door installed because Rick Hoffman didn't install any windows in the living area that could be opened. Rick Hoffman cares so little that our realtor had to pay for the door and the install.- The whole house does not cool and heat properly. The room furthest from the HVAC unit is either cold or hot depending on the season. Rick Hoffman's repair? "Close some of your vents."- I have door shims in place to fill the gap between floor joist and basement wall framing. How am I supposed to finish the basement ceiling with a door shim sticking out supporting the floor joist?- Paint...... He painted the whole house the grey color we picked out in FLAT paint! How does that even make sense? Besides the fact I know we asked for eggshell. It makes sense because flat paint is cheaper for him. There are many more issues but I feel like it isn't even worth continuing. In my opinion in working with Rick Hoffman and New Century Homes is that he has no professionalism and will lie to your face, cut corners in your build, and then leave you hanging in the end as long as he makes hes few dollars. He has put a terrible taste in my mouth for building a house and working with contractors.
