This is a great place to come for a fun family day outside at the pool. We aren't members and the fact we can pay $18 for the family for water park admission is pretty cool. The pool itself is pretty clean. But the kids lived the variety. There was a few different slides, a lazy river, a kids play area, diving board and rock climbing wall. We didn't get any food but it was nice to have that option. We were visiting from out of town and would recommend stopping by for other families looking for a fun day.

I went to this YMCA as my primary gym for about a year in 2010-2011. While it was incredibly cheap (about $7 a month for a student), you got what you paid for. It was often crowded and equipment broke regularly and took a while to fix. The locker rooms and bathrooms were usually kinda dirty. I often saw children running around unsupervised.The staff was generally friendly, and I liked that I could just punch in a number instead of carrying a card around to sign in. The trainer I met with was really great and gave me a lot of good exercises to do.When I came in to cancel this membership, though, one of the staff members made a rather rude comment about my changing to another gym, saying that I was "more likely to find a husband" at the other gym. I was really offended, because all I'd ever done was come to the Y, work out, and leave. I didn't know this staff member. That experience really downgraded this Y. I also learned after I left that someone had put cameras in the women's bathroom stalls...so between those two things, I'm going give this particular Y a 2 star rating. Other Y's in town were nicer. And if you want a cheap gym, this is still the way to go.

Actually signed up at this location when I moved back to Wichita, despite living on the west side. Had an awesome deal going on-wave the joiner fee. All I owed was a pro-rated monthly fee. This Y location is very clean and appropriately staffed. Cardio machines are conveniently located up and downstairs. My favorite thing about this YMCA is how spacious this branch is. The free weights/resistance machines are maintained and I've seen staff members frequently make their rounds to make sure weights are put up (I've worked at a gym before and that's definitely the most annoying part about working there) keep it up south Y

I like the YMCA b/c it is family friendly and very economical. I was very pleased with my 'personal' training class' with Sean---he won't be there much longer b/c he is moving away---but I have to say he is AWESOME! Thanks Sean ---wish you would stay!

Dress code is absolutely awful, you can see people half naked at weights room and machines. Women with only sport bras and mini, mini, mini shorts. Kids unatended playing with the equipment and staff didnt says nothing. Womens in the adult bathroom with Kids.

July 1st, south YMCA. Two out of 3 slides CLOSED! Shallow play area CLOSED for over an hr. Finally left so who knows when it reopened! That left a Motel 6 sized pool and lazy river for ALL the PAYING customers!! Life guards chirping constantly to not even walk on edge of shallow pool to keep from burning your feet. We pay significant dues for THIS?

This establishment really disappointed me today. I am currently the coach of a children's basketball team. Keep in mind these are CHILDREN. As I was trying to win the game, the referee made a very questionable call, and I commented on that fact that I did not agree. He proceeded to tell me to "Shut my f**cken mouth". He said this in front of children. KIDS! They don't need to hear that. Let's just say I was in awe of the way they treated their well paying customers. I will not be returning to this YMCA. I am very disappointed because I expected more. I was trying to instruct children and they get exposed to horrible language. My team is playing MAYB from now on.
