Avoid using this contractor!Wes, the owner, will sell you quality and communication but will never do the same with his crew, and you will have to oversee every step of the project..in my case a deck remodel. The first (unqualified) subcontractor was hired to tear apart and rebuild an 800 sqft deck. It was a one-man show that was not informed of my specifications and refused to get additional help for a job this big. When he thought the job was done, he took pictures because he said Pico blamed him for another project and didn't pay him. He then became MIA and was let go as a sub for Pico. The deck had to be re-done due to shoddy workmanship, and it took over a week to get a response from Pico about what happened. Wes was nonexistent during the project and left everything to a project manager who was just a go-between. I became the PM and had to oversee all aspects of the job discussed but never communicated to the next crew. I was presented, after the fact, with change orders that were never discussed regarding price, which turned out to be over $4K more than agreed upon.I was threatened by their lawyer with a lien but did not cave to their scare tactics. I sent a "settlement" check with full documentation of what I thought was reasonable, and hopefully, Pico paid a good sum for their lawyer since they agreed and are cashing the check.

Mr. Pechin is the former owner of Three Sons Construction of Derby, KS. When this company failed in 2005/6, he pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars from those who trusted him to build their homes. He left contractors unpaid and struggling to survive while he continued to drive a Porsche, vacation in his home on Table Rock and live in a mansion. Don't believe for one second that he will not do the very same thing to you!Don't believe me? Try this:https://www.bizjournals.com/wichita/stories/2005/10/24/story3.html

This is the worst contractor I have ever worked with. Horrible workmanship and they could care less about the customer. I paid just to get rid of them. I will never use them and I encourage any one else not to use them. I could go on for hours on the lack of detail and lack of care from Pico. Very sad to know that they will do this again to someone else and I am horrified that the unskilled employees call themselves professionals.

This contractor should be avoided at all costs. He has a long history of liens and litigation for not paying his subs, and breaching contracts after he embezzles money from homeowners. He is petty and difficult to deal with. He unilaterally changes plans on you in favor of what saves him money despite the $40,000 he charges to patch and fix an existing empty room to install a master bath. He cuts corners, doesn't pay his subs and then after he has 3/4 of your money for 10% of the work he hightails it out of town with your money. Don't take my word for it. Court documents and litigation do not lie. Look this guy up. Don't give him your business. He has nearly $27980 of our money and he is not giving it back. I talked to his subs. None of them had been paid as of 5/20/22. Three months after he started our build project.
