Petland Wichita

My first and likely last visit to this store. I needed help. I could not find any available staff to assist me. Employees whom I did see were all busy and looked to be high school age.After finding what I hoped was the correct aquarium tank, heat lamp, and bulb I went to check out. The clerk helpfully pointed out that there was a crack in my aquarium glass. The problem was out of the five small aquariums in stock, four were cracked. The clerk asked me where the aquariums were in the store.One area in the store was very messy. I was confused if that was an area for retail or for inventory storing. It was extremely confusing. It seemed to be an area for retail, but it was quite disorganized.My impression from my visit to this Petland store was that it is understaffed, poorly organized, and no one is paying attention to see if the items being stocked on the shelf are a good quality or damaged. In comparison to other pet stores in Wichita, this was quite inferior.

Manager of the day Lydia was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Was trying to rush me and my family when we were playing with a puppy we were really considering purchasing.(we had even named the puppy) She was very negative when talking about the West location. "...They've only been doing this for 3 years they're still trying to figure out what they're doing..." Unfortunately her inability to be helpful and her poor costumer service made us run out the store. Currently on our way to the West location. Managers do better. Thank you!

Honestly, I truly thought I liked this place until today. The staff doesn't greet you AND.. ALL of the dogs were sitting in diarrhea looking Feces in their cages... which made me so upset to see how unclean these poor dogs were kept. Poor diet? Sick puppies? Not sure. I wish I took a picture of their cages.. Anyways.. I highly doubt they were cleaning at least the dogs paws before handing them to people to pet. Highly unsanitary and quite gross. Please.. fix your staff and take proper care of the dogs.

This place is a nightmare. The entitled little $h!t$ that "manage" the place have no idea what they are doing. You will wait for 20 minutes to check out because there is nobody paying attention to the registers. If you DO have to purchase something in this joke of a store, my advice is to take your product to the register and then pull your face mask down. They will come running to throw a little fit at you. When they do, tell them you would like to buy this item. They will probably have to make a couple calls, but eventually they will get enough fingers and toes there so they can count your change back.

We called Petland and asked if they had Corgi pups. They told us they had Corgi doodles, my daughter asked how much for a pup. They told her we had to come up and view the pup first. We made an hour drive to Wichita Ks to see the pups. We did drive up and was handed a cute little pup for my granddaughter to play with. She lived the pup immediately. We asked how much, the young man asked if we'd been to Petland before, we told him no. He read us this 8 page thing on how getting a pup from them you got a kennel, food, treats, toys, shampoo, ect....from them when adopting this pup. I asked how much. He mumbled $2000. My granddaughter is still crying over the pup she couldn't have. This was a mix breed pup! We went the next day and bought a full blood corgi pup from a reputable breeder. Shame on them....

Love my Petland Puppy! I have had my baby for over 8 years now and she is still just as perfect as the day i took her home

Although we did end up getting our puppy here I would not recommend it to anyone. For one the told us the wrong price for our puppy and ended up being 3 times the original price quoted. They did give us a discount due to the inconvenience. We waited for nearly 2 hours after saying we would like the puppy just holding the poor baby! He was also on medication for a virus and we were not informed! Do not go here!!

I used to work at a vet clinic that had a deal with petland where puppies could get a free exam there. Half of the puppies that were brought to us for a regular check up were sick. these animals are not properly cared for and come from puppy mills. it's disgusting. petland does not care for their animals.

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! The employee's are RUDE beyond belief I even can tell that they are rude to each other as well. They work as if they don't want to be there. I wonder how this place is even still open. I have a relative that used to work there & he told me how some of the employees call each other names. Sounds like a hostile work environment to me.

I was playing with a dog and received no toys to play with the dog and then proceeded to have a staff member tell me that the cloth I was using was not okay. After they threw the toys at me they said no tug of war with anything because it promotes bad habits. Which from previous job experience know for a fact that is not true. The staff members were all around very rude and not helpful.
