Penny's Diner

Wellington is a very small town about 1/2 hour away from Wichita. We were camping at the nearby KOA and decided to stop in for breakfast. It definitely looks like an old time diner both on the outside and the artwork inside and the well worn booth seats. We were there around 10:00 a.m. on a Thursday so it wasn't too crowded at that time. Our server was friendly and food didn't take too long although it seemed they do a big take out business. The cooks were great, they would break out in a dance every now and then while preparing delicious food. We have so much leftover, we have enough for breakfast tomorrow! I'm sad we're leaving so soon so no time to try it for dinner and dessert!

Kansas 01-2024 Tony and I stopped in Wellington Kansas on our way to see Laura Ingalls Wilder's home and we stopped at Penny's Diner for lunch.Qe both had tea to drink no beer poor Tony. I ordered a Regular Cheeseburger with fries and he ordered a Chili Cheeseburger with Fries. His was very interesting that was for sure!! He liked it very muchMy burger was good but I put too much mustard on it.i would eat here again if in the area. Staff was very nice

What a darling place. Friendlies people I have met in a long time. We got there and there was only one person in the restaurant. We sat wherever and the server brought us menus and silverware, took our drink order. By the time she brought those we were ready to order. Hubs had the patty melt with tots, I had the French dip with tots, granddaughter #1 had salad with grilled chicken, granddaughter #2 have the pancakes, eggs and toast.Food came out quick and hot!!!! And let me tell you it was delicious!! Only one complained from gd#1...she said here chicken tastes funny and dry. Every thing else !! My only observation was decor is a little old and would be nice to do a deep cleaning on the floor.

Better than average diner! Not far off I-35 at Wellington. 24 hour, breckfast all day, small selection but pretty good. Service was average. Locals eat here.

This is such a great little diner! Love that it's open 24 hours. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always available and the food is always delicious! We especially love the Beef steak, the Chicken fried steak, French dip, Philly cheese sandwich, all the breakfast and PIE!! Such sweet servers too! Every town needs a place like this.

I always get a skillet and it's always amazing!! I've always had a lovely waitress who was polite and attentive.

The restaurant is kind of small and cute, the food it pretty good but prices are about what you pay at IHOP. The service is good and the staff is friendly. I recommend the Pancakes. The are good!

Love these old style diners. Food was great and service was very good. If you're in Wellington it's worth a visit.

genuinely such a cute and retro diner, it's also open 24 hours. food was pretty good, standard diner food and the wait time was surprisingly speedy considering they only had one worker.

The food..I had breakfast my hubby had chili and cheeseburger. EVERY THING was absolutely DELICIOUS. A true diner building. The staff were also gems. Very kind and helpful. We will definitely go again when we are in Kansas. Everyone needs to go there.
