I love this mechanic. It is really difficult to find an old-fashioned mechanic shop in Wichita that seems skilled and honest. Have complete faith in these guys to fix my car and treat me fairly. I do not have the same confidence and local competitors.

I have always gotten great service on my vehicles at Peniston's. They fix my cars right the first time and don't over-charge. Fast service always and we're talking 20 years I've been going here with multiple cars. I've never gone anywhere else. 5 Stars.

I am a return customer to Peniston. They always get my car right in and don't waste time working on it. They communicate the problem and cost in a timely manner. They have let me know what needs to be done and what can wait. One of the gentlemen was kind enough to give me a ride to work while my car was being repaired. I've taken several cars to them, always been treated well. They had the best price for replacing the timing belt and water pump on my '92 Lexus. I had a problem with the thermostat leaking and they fixed it. Apparently sometimes the O-rings don't seal all the way they should so they took it back in and fixed it without charging me. They even gave me a loaned me a car while mine was being fixed.

Recently took the truck in because it was "acting up". Peniston got us in right away, had the part on-hand, and had it fixed by the same afternoon! We were having the same problems last year and we took the truck to a dealership to be fixed. There they jerked us around, made us wait a week to get the part in, put us on the back-burner, and $1600 later, the fix was only temporary.Not only did Peniston have what they needed to fix the problem the same day, they were quick, and the whole process only cost us a fraction of what we spent before!The icing on the cake was that they even took time to text us to ask us how the truck was running, and to make sure we were satisfied! Amazing service!!Moral of the story, never take your vehicle to a dealership to be fixed (unless its still under warranty). Instead, just save yourself some time and money and take it to Peniston's!

Took an Acura MDX to Peniston's for a valve adjustment. If you know Hondas/Acuras, you know they often require valve adjustments when their mileage gets up there. Took it to Peniston's last fall. When we got the car back, it ran like a race car! In fact, we were so impressed with the work done at Peniston's, that we took another MDX in for a valve adjustment last month. Happy to say it also runs like a champ! Not everyone knows how to properly adjust valves. Dealerships are crazy expensive and some techs won't even handle it. Steve Peniston told me the second valve adjustment was tricky just getting to the back valves, but his team stuck with it and got the job done at a very honest and reasonable rate. With honest service like Peniston's we might drive these MDXs to 500K miles and beyond! Love the team at Peniston and highly recommend!

I hated even giving one star. I went there with my sons Toyota MR2 because they were a christian business. Received a verbal estimate mid day for $200 and change. When I went in to pick it up, the tab was $800+. They stayed open after hours so I could pay and get it. When I complained, things got hostile, no one but me and 3 others being that they were closed. One of the mechanics even chimed in asking me if I wanted to pull the platinum spark plugs out. I'll never forget that day, ever!!! DO NOT GO THERE, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!

This place is great. Good old fashioned family run garage. Was in Wichita from out of state and they treated me right. I highly recommend it to travelers. The locals seem well acquainted with it already, which is always a good sign.
