If you're traveling to or through the Kansas City Missouri area, then Peculiar RV Park is an excellent choice. It is a beautiful clean RV campground with easy access just right off of Interstate 49, that has large sites with level gravel pads. We left our place in a hurry to get ahead of a snow storm and didn't have reservations for that night. I called the Peculiar RV park while on the road to see if they had a spot for our 5th Wheel. I spoke with a very pleasant & informative man named Don. He told me they had room for us and to get there before dark so he could guide us to the campsite. I gave him our location on the road to make double sure we would get there before dark and he confirmed the time & distance. That was very helpful to us because we didn't know the area. He also told me they only accept cash or check which was no problem. When we arrived at the RV park we saw festive Christmas decorations, loved it! I went into the office/store and was greeted by the most friendly & informative couple (Don & Frosty) who run the RV park. They got us all checked in, gave me a park map and then Don escorted us to the full hook up site and he made sure we got all hooked up and situated. Great customer service! And Site #57 is perfect for people like us who are just passing through. Be aware that there is no Shower/Bathroom facility here at this park, we like to shower in our 5th Wheel so it's not a problem for us. This RV park does have a Laundry facility. Peculiar RV Park is a great destination for either the short term or a full season too. The atmosphere around the campground as I walked our pups around the RV Park the next morning is a relaxed one. I think in the spring & summer with all the trees & flowers in full bloom it would be a tranquil experience here. We will definitely stay here whenever we're in this area of the country.

As a full-time RVer, I've stayed in a variety of parks. This park rates as fair. I requested a pull thru site bc I was towing a 10' golf cart trailer behind the fifth wheel. I was assigned a spot long enough, but it was gravel, not level and not even straight. Then upon check in, I was charged an additional $4 per night for the trailer. That brought my overnight stay to a total of $61. For that price, I would expect a top of the line park and this isn't it! In addition, roads were hilly and at times narrow. An ok place to overnight, but overpriced!!

My wife, 12 y/o daughter along with our two dogs stopped here on our trip from Alaska to Louisiana. The attendant (Heather) was more than helpful. She was the 1st person at an RV Park on our journey that escorted us to our site. The layout was big rig friendly and it was easy in and out of the park. We stopped here again on our way from Louisiana to North Dakota and there was Heather again, smiling and welcoming us. I would definitely stay here again.

Current daily cost is $36 including electric, water & sewer. Monthly cost is $485 (these are the spots near the highway, spots behind the office cost more). Located near I49, so it can be noisy at night if you have good hearing (bring ear plugs). People are nice and friendly. Wifi is fair to poor (bring a hot spot if you have one). Antenna gets several local tv channels. They have laundry and showers available if required. Close to Belton & Raymore (about 10min drive north) for Walmart or any other requirement. Cash or Check only. Pet friendly (clean up afterward). Overall the best place to stay that is out of the way, but still close enough to city life when you want it.

Staff was very rude on the phone. They let us change our reservation to 1 day earlier but **afterwards** informed us that we had to be out by 8 AM and would NOT be getting the pull-through spot we paid for. And since the "new reservation" was within 24 hours, we were ineligible for a refund. Filing a credit card chargeback against them. It's a no from me bro. Awful customer service, don't give them your money.

My partner and I have stayed at Peculiar Place for over a week now. Their rates are fair and the customer service we've received has been exceptional. i would recommend Peculiar to any and every one. They also have an awesome game room that I wish I would've utilized more. Great people, great experience!

This RV Park is VERY DISAPPOINTING. The Good Sam's App lists the restrooms as a "10" but they are non-existent. You are not told about it until you look for them and ask.The site is pretty close to the expressway but we could live with the noise, but not without a bathroom. I drove 1.5 miles to a restaurant to use the bathroom. Unfortunately the restaurant does not have a shower.I think I said they do not take cash but they ONLY take cash or check. Personal opinion they do that so you can not cancel the charge when you find out about the bathrooms.

I travel between Iowa & Oklahoma several times a years and only drive 6-7 hours a day. This RV park is the perfect half way over night spot. I travel with a 109 pound furry friend who is not only welcomed, but there are trails to walk her on. Did I mention that Karen is the sweetest person on the phone and in person? $34 a night, (full hookup), is a lot, but cheaper than a hotel, safer than a parking lot, a nicer place to walk my dog, and once, a chivalrous young man helped back my rig into a long tight spot! Some day when I have some extra time I'm planning on spending a couple of extra days to see some of the local peculiar sights.

Just got here. They have 4 bathrooms and only one is in service, so we are talking 1 toilet and 1 shower for everyone here. Not very good. No shaded RV sites in 98 degree weather. Not much to the store that is advertised, but there is a Flying J down the road. Wish this wasn't where we decided to stay for the week we are here. There is also no cable hookup although our RV satellite is bringing in good reception. Also, as Lifetime Good Sam members you would think we'd get the discount no matter how we made reservations. I made our reservations on-line and found out the only way to get the discount is by calling the park or in person!! Just like the other reviewer noted, no CARDS, just cash or checkbook. Very old school. For a park that's been here 12 years AND a small RV park award winner, I expected more.
