This was a fun, Sunday brunch location after visiting friends in Manhattan and we're about to heading back home. The restaurant was an old gas station/ body shop when I went to school in Manhattan when I went to college. Now it's revamped to a retro place to grab a bite for breakfast or lunch, baked good, morning cocktail, and coffee. It had indoor and outdoor seating allowing with various seating options from indoor bar seating to tabletop or outdoor covered to uncovered choices. They had a lot of friendly faces working with a flow of customers that kept the employee constantly moving; however, it made it difficult to keep the coffee cups constantly topped. The menu is not extensive but what we did order was frustratingly delicious. I was cautious to order anything more out of fear to be disappointed. I think I should have risked trying something else while I had the chance. There was four of us and we all tried,Drinks- Iced Latte ( ordered twice)- Hot Coffee (kept refilling by Paramour Coffee)- Espresso Tonic ( I didn't order this originally but I did finish it since I liked the citrusy beverage)Food- Cinnamon Roll from Little Batch Co (right next door), a fluffy huge and delicious cinnamon roll that tasted homemade with love- BISCUITS & GRAVY ,fluffy buttermilk biscuits smothered in chipotle sausage gravy. Served with two fried eggs and herb roasted potatoes.* (choice of condiments Goujhang, honey mustard, ketchup, and ranch)- Buttermilk Grits Roasted Vegetable - roasted summer vegetables, breakfast potatoes, pickled red onion and crema served over buttermilk grits. I split with a friend and each of us ordered a side egg. I made sure the plates didn't leave the table licked clean.

Okay, so I read past reviews and looked at the ratings. WTF? Are you people tone-deaf to your ignorance? The ambiance at Parkside is excellent, mid-century modern, carved out of an old garage. The menu is an eclectic spin on traditional American food. Everything appears to be handcrafted and, in my opinion, well executed. The breakfast burger with the pimento mornay was lovely. The buttermilk grits were quite tasty. The bread pudding with crème anglaise was fabulous. The super simple but delicious vegetable sandwich was fantastic. Folks start by ignoring the winy reviews. Now there's nothing left to do but get ya some!

Cute new place! The atmosphere is very modern and welcoming. The coffee is great from Paramour however the food was bland. I got the eggs Benedict and there was lack of any flavor as well as one of my eggs being wayyy over cooked. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy which you could barely taste the chipotle flavoring, both of our potatoes were cold. The service was great and very nice staff. Worth a try but not sure if we'd go back soon.

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere! Parkside is a fun relaxing place to enjoy a meal, a drink, and a great outdoor place. The menu is simple but great. Cannot go wrong and highly recommend! Live music sometimes too!

A fav. My husband and I pick up bagels and baked goods at least once a week. Love that they do everything: cafe, bar, bakery, restaurant. Such a great addition to the neighborhood!

Location and atmosphere is great! Friendly staff. Food is good and there is variety. GF and V options! Very slow service, not a place for a quick meal. Took about 45 minutes.

I was visiting my son at Kstate and took him there to try a new spot. The restaurant was cute and well decorated. His burger was good but my jerk chicken was terrible. No jerk seasoning/no flavor at all. I was so disappointed. Actually it was not even a good baked chicken. When I questioned the server about it they brought me hot sauce and salt and pepper. I should've asked for a manager but I didn't and should've. Jerk chicken should not need all of that just to eat it. I'm not sure I am willing to get disappointed again.

I've come here a few times already. I've forgotten this is Kansas, when you order poached eggs, they extremely over poached. So we have to lower our standards when it comes to cultural appropriation and deal with it. Beggars can't be choosers. This was my first time getting a croissant here. I've noticed in the mid-west no one makes them they way they should it's always burnt. They still supposed to be extremely light golden brown and soft when you take them out the oven. Also no one here remembers to spray them with water before this bread is baked in the oven either. Coffee is great thou. Coffee shop kind of has an attitude.

Not good for gluten free!! They used to have tons of gluten free options but since getting new menus they have 2 options, which are both salads! The waiter was very dismissive about figuring out what was gluten free! Used to be my favorite place, but their lack of service and options is making it a lot less appealing.
