My daughter gives her sushi a five. She got three other rolls that are not pictured. My salmon hibachi was good, the salmon was a bit thin and fishy, but ok. The service was fast. The prices were fair. Not bad for small town sushi!

Being a California transplant, we have a TON of great sushi options, but not many in southern Kansas. Osaki has the monopoly on the sushi game and thankfully they do it fantastically! The minute you walk in you are greeted and seated even with it being super busy! You know how good this place is with a full restaurant. There's sushi, bento boxes, teriyaki options, and steak hibachi, too. So if you're not into raw fish, that's okay! Bring your date and she will be happy! I order the Dream roll that's super DREAMY! Inside is crab, shrimp, and topped with ahi tuna and drizzled with sauces, wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed. Perfection! My hubby orders the chicken teriyaki bento box and he gets a little bit of everything. It's perfect for his hungry appetite and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I feel lucky that our little piece of Kansas has a great sushi restaurant nearby! Definitely a place to go!

We had a super awkward meal here tonight. Yes, I know it is sushi in a rural area, but that is not what was awkward. We drove 11 hours from El Paso to here to spend the night on the way home. This was one of the restaurants open late near our hotel so we stopped here for dinner. When we arrived, there were two other tables but soon we were by ourselves. I ordered the jazz roll (menu said it was spicy yellowtail inside, yellowtail and jalapeno on top) and mackerel nigiri. The server checked to make sure I wanted sushi and I confirmed it. Eric R. ordered the salmon family roll without spicy mayo (menu said spicy salmon inside, salmon and ikura on top) and the rainbow roll.My order came out first on one big platter (see photo). You can see sashimi was brought out instead of sushi for the mackerel. The two servers in the restaurant were cleaning so he went to the sushi chef and mentioned that the mackerel was supposed to be sushi. The chef looked at the ticket and said yes, it was supposed to be sushi and he would make that right away. Then, one of the servers came over and tried to take my plate away while I was eating my roll. I told her I was eating and did not know what she was doing. She said she wanted to take the sashimi off and get me the new sushi. I told her I did not want to send my plate back, to just leave it and bring the sushi out whenever the chef made it.The other server then came over with a small plate and asked if she could take the sashimi with her hands (?!?!) off of my plate to take it back. First of all, if something is served to me, it would violate health code to take it back and serve it to someone else. Second, if she picked it up with her bare hands and then tried to do that...well...I hope should would not. I told her to just leave it.Then, she brought out the mackerel nigiri and again carried a small empty plate and asked to remove the sashimi from the other platter. I told her, "If you are just going to throw it away, I will eat it." Eric R. told them since they made the mistake, they can just give it to us - that is what any other restaurant would do! Then the chef brought out Eric R.'s rolls. When the server brought our check to the table, she told us the chef insisted we pay for the sashimi because I ate it. Honestly, we thought that was poor service because it was the chef's mistake in not reading the ticket, and he would have had to throw away the product anyway. If he planned to serve it later (especially if the server picked it up with her hands), then this place is really unsanitary anyway.I tend to see the quality of a sushi restaurant by eating mackerel. House-cured mackerel can be delicate and fantastic. When a sushi restaurant has a limited menu for nigiri and sashimi, it usually would not serve mackerel because it can be an acquired taste, and is likely not a top choice in rural Kansas. However, since it was on the menu I had hoped it would be good. However, it tasted like it was partially defrosted frozen mackerel, which is unfortunate. The rolls had "fillers" in them that were not listed in the menu description that I shared above. The jazz roll had fried tempura batter bits in it (definitely not listed) and the salmon family roll had both krab and tempura bits that were not advertised. The only thing this place has going for it is being open on a Sunday night.

I came here for a quick bite after a long road trip through Kansas. My friend doesn't like sushi so we went here because he could order a regular entrée. The food was ok. The service was ok too. I think because it's a small town and they were getting ready to close, the service was lacking. Our server didn't even know what beers they offered. I'm from Vegas and I'm used to a certain standard of service. I'm not going to give them a hard time but I would like to see better service. The sushi was ok but nothing to rave about.

Who would have thought that you could get good sushi in Dodge City, Kansas? Osaki has only been open for about a month now, but every time we've eaten here the food has been consistently wonderful. My wife and I are huge sushi fans, and everything from the sashimi to the rolls to the tonkatsu is expertly prepared. Service has always been impeccable and friendly and they're happy to offer recommendations on what they like. If you never thought you could get good Japanese Dodge, be prepared to be surprised.

Old fish couldn't even eat the miso soup. Had 1 bite of 3 different rolls. Each tasted as bad as the other. I know I shouldn't be complaining trying sushi in Dodge City but I have had great sushi in surrounding towns (G.C., HAYS, SALINA). But this was bad. Also I knew better there was only 1 other person in the restaurant during dinner. A small argument between the waitress and I but they did not make me pay for it. Only the beer. I left a good tip bc the service was fine but I did ask the waitress how fresh their fish was and she could not answer my question. (That is something they should have a clue about). And went to my car and puked up a lil and left. Great place

The miso was okay, ginger dressing on the salad was tasty. The California roll was subpar at best. The tempura shrimp was not tempura batter, and they gave such minimal sauce with the tempura. What really earned the rating was cross contamination...A staff member went from the sushi bar to the register. Took the gloves off at the register and put them back on after done with the transaction. Went to the back kitchen with the same gloves on.. opening the door with palm flat.. then went right back to the sushi bar and started making rolls... SAME GLOVES.The health department really should take a look at this place.

We were looking forward to a nice meal but had to leave before the entrees came because a cockroach ran across a wall between booths. NOPE! If it's in the dining room then there's more in the kitchen

Really enjoyed this meal!I went today during lunch, it was busy but not full which was nice. I was seated promptly and the waitress was very kind. I ordered the Hibachi Chicken Dinner. This came with fried rice, salad, soup and the meal. The ginger dressing was light and refreshing, the soup not too salty and my meal was delicious overall. It had cracked black pepper that added just enough "spice" to the dish. The veggies were tender and still had a good crunch to it. The only thing I did not care for was how strong the hibachi sauce was. Maybe it was the garlic. I'm not sure. I also ordered lobster Rangoon. It was sweet and creamy! All in all the meal was delicious and I was so full when I left!

The food is good. The torta is top notch the only bad thing is that their menu is very limited in the choices. Other than that I recommend.
