this grill house is in the middle of nowhere in clay county nebraska and service all the neighboring small towns in the 10 mile (20? more? idk) radius of middle of nowhere usa. you wouldn't expect much from such a location, but it is really very genuinely good! all the meat tastes fresh and sourced locally obviously, the beers are brewed there (or were, or is in process to go back and forth), and has a nice casual atmosphere.if this review was just about the char burgers, it would be an easy five star rating. hands down one of the best burgers i've ever had and it doesn't try to do anything foofie or artisanal or whatever. it's a fuckin burger with some veg on the side. there are other options like horseradish or mushrooms or other accountrements, but it's just a nice and simple manageable patty and it's delicious and fresh. the fries are crinkle fries and they are great too. i'm sure frozen, but they don't taste frozen. they are deep fried well.all the other foods i've tried there are good too. but not great. they are like okay, yeah, it's good. but for the prices, it's worth it to not have to make it at home even though it would probably taste the same at home. i tried the chicken fried steak special and a random sirloin steak special with mushroom sauce. both aight, but pales in comparison to their almighty burger. drinks are all fine, but the PRICES ARE AMAZING. they'll make you an old fashioned for $4.50. though i was teetering on a rating between 3 ~ 5, i landed on 5 stars because why not and i think i leaned towards there after writing this review.

My daughter and I went on a busy Friday night, and they were understaffed, but hustling the whole time. it was curious to read about the lynchings from the old newspaper clippings on the wall. Food was OK. Alcohol selection included some local IPAs. Would definitely visit again!

I stopped by during the day when they aren't open, but the proprietor let me in anyway and spent time letting me sample his beers and showing me around the place. The three beers he had brewed were all great, and he shared about the history of the building and the area. The walls have interesting historical scenes depicted and we talked about those for a while.Hopefully I'll be in the area again soon so that I can try the food. If the food's as good as the beer, it would be worth the trip!

A friend had been raving to me about the Thursday night chicken fried steak special...so I had to go try it. For $8 you get a tasty and filling meal. Also add a beer because their brewing is great. I will definitely come back here to try other menu items if I'm back in this neck of the woods!

Nice place in a small Nebraska town. Onion rings were fantastic, had the blue moon burger. Burger seasoned well, wish the bleu cheese was more prominent but tasted good. Server was friendly and efficient.

A visit here is a given when we're out on the farm. Awesome prime rib. The salad bar is lacking, though, to say the least.

Great food, good service! They gave good pizza, burgers, steaks! Everything I have ever ordered there has been delicious! Prices are reasonable! The kitchen is not open until 5, but stop in and have a cold drink. I would recommend the Opera House to everyone!

Went there for Friday dinner date with the wife and the meals were cooked to perfection. I didn't try the beer but as looked mostly everyone was drinking their brew. This is a great place that most don't know about but should!

The opera house is a unique place to eat. The menu has a lot of options and they have a kids menu for coloring! My family loves eating here on Thursday for chicken fried steak night! My husband loves their pizza and I appreciate that they have a salad bar as a healthy option.Service is good and people are friendly but sometimes they are not very good at noticing you need a refill.Eating at the Opera House is like having a glimpse into the past and I love that we have something like this is small town nebraska.

I love the murals, love the beer selection, am happy with the food, and love the company! I was here on Wednesday night and there are two rounds of free poker. Seriously, it was so fun and no one seemed to care that I was an out-of-towner!The only thing I could add is that I think whoever makes the food needs to get their seasoning refined a bit--but other then that I was totally happy with the time and money I spent here.
