I bought a 1910 house and needed to find a key for the mortise locks in my house. I removed the mortise locks from two doors and took them with me to d Town. I sat down and tried skeleton keys with David and after some time we found one that worked! They also have amazing door knobs and other parts of which I availed myself because the former owner, stripped some of these charming details from my home. (Why?!)

Trying to kill some time on a Saturday with the family, we ended up in this store. I'm glad we did, because it's pretty dang great, and it defied expectations. For a place called "architectural salvage," this biz has a much larger "antique store" element than I had expected. Virtually the entire sizable first floor is dedicated to a selection of antiques that I found to be incredibly interesting! I wouldn't be able to even scratch the surface of telling you the types of items, but I'd say that the collection lends itself to items that were originally meant to be functional, rather than decorative. Their collection of antique binoculars and telescopes was fascinating, as were their scales. I also really enjoyed rummaging through their apothecary bottles, a personal favorite of mine.Of course, this IS an architectural salvage, so you're also treated to massive stained glass windows, service counters carefully removed from turn-of-the-century businesses, entire displays of doorknobs and hinges and light fixtures. If you were looking for period-appropriate parts for your home, I trust they'd have it. While the prices are high enough I wouldn't say you'd get anything at a steal, the selection is incredibly impressive. Maybe it's still somewhat of a secret and hasn't yet been picked over? Whatever it is, if you're into this type of business, you'll be happy!

A sight to behold! Huge selection of furniture and antique oddities. I only gave it four stars because they are only open on Saturdays and are pretty pricey.

Traveling frequently for work and having a passion for antiques, architectural salvage, vintage lighting and more, I get the pleasure of treasure trove shopping all over the country and overseas. Old Town Architectural Salvage is QUITE THE FIND in Wichita with great diversity of product of a higher level of quality than most other stores. To top it off their pricing is extremely fair to a degree that designers and retailers could mark their buys up 2x and still delight clients. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I'm a bit spoiled with shopping in larger cities. Love this store however and have bought numerous items over the years! The staff is GREAT too! PS-They've really improved their displays and organization of products in the store.

They are now open Fridays and Saturdays. Very unique items here. And, lots of dust. You need to spend have plenty of time to look around. Definitely worth a peek.

Incredible antiques and the owner is wonderful to work with. You can totally trust him. My mother sold him an early medical book when he was about 16. He was as nice then as he is now. Wichita is so blessed to have Grant. Cindy and Shirley N.
