To quote fellow Yelper Adam, "Everything was brilliant. Crumbly burgers are legit."Love the classic combo of cheap white buns, crumbly but never greasy ground beef, chopped white onions, and (of course) tangy and distinctly sloppy old yellow American mustard.Distinctly Midwestern in its simplicity, the NuWay "burger" never fails to satisfy.(No wonder it's been around for ninety-one years now!)

I'm not sure what these other people are talking about. That burger was delicious!!! Do not let the bad reviews deter you from giving this place a try. I had the burger with cheese and bacon. So much flavor! Side of curly fries and a drink. All very good. And the staff were very friendly and attentive.

How can they get away with the false advertising. Not only do you not get the meat as advertised, I have never seen buns there that looked like the commercials. The only reason I give it a one star is because of the root beer.

This was my first ever NuWay experience based on a recommendation from a friend who had been to Wichita before.I was impressed, very. We were greeted by a really friendly guy at the counter, and admitted that it was our first time at a NuWay. He recommended the things that they excel at: crumbly burgers and root beer. Therefore... I ordered a crumbly burger and a root beer. We also ordered onion rings and curly fries.Everything was brilliant. Crumbly burgers are legit. I wanted to eat 2 more but I couldn't afford a food coma on a road trip. The curly fries are incredible (note: non-seasoned, which worked out well because my wife hates seasoned curly fries). Not sure if it is a crime in Wichita, but I dipped them in the BBQ sauce... great idea, the BBQ sauce is really good. The onion rings were crispy and tasty. And the root beer... oh the root beer. Smooth, flavorful, maybe just the best root beer I have ever had. We wanted to bring back a bunch of root beer for a friend back in Houston that loves it, but they don't actually bottle it... which honestly is a mistake. We might have bought 48.If I want to be super picky, I would season the beef just a bit more, but I am a ground black pepper fanatic so that might not work for everyone else.

So they serve Nathan's hot dogs now. I stopped in at the Douglas location late (4pm) one afternoon to try one of the hot dogs they are advertising on TV - and also on the banner out front of the store. When I went in there were no other customers in the place. I waited until the employees finished their personal conversation, told the kid I wanted one of the hot dogs, fries and a root beer and could I get it to go? No problem. When he rang up the order it seemed a little high, so I asked about the $1 hot dog and was told you were supposed to have a coupon and there was a limit of one (no mention of a coupon on TV or the sign - supposedly it is printed in the paper - which no one buys anymore). Anyway, he was nice enough to comp me the coupon. And thank God. That was THE WORST HOT DOG I have ever had. It looked (and tasted) like it had been sitting on the roller since lunchtime. I'm also glad I looked at it before I left, b/c there was nothing on the hot dog. Just a shriveled old dog on a bun. I went to put some mustard on that was sitting on the counter and the mustard container was gross and crusty under the lid, so I grabbed another one and it was worse!! So I wiped the crusty stuff off, put some mustard and ketchup on and left. I usually go to the Central St. location and have always had good food/service there. Hopefully, this was a location-specific fluke.

The menu is simple and easy to choose from. The burgers were most excellent with a little bit of ketchup, and the curly fries were tasty too. Their awesome home-made root beer was perfect to wash it all down with. Service was very friendly as surprisingly fast. All-in-all a good experience.

Burgers very bland and no flavor. The onion rings were gross and mostly oil. The homemade root beer was good and the best thing I had there. I will not go back anytime soon.

Came by the Harry Street location instead of the Douglas location and found that the Harry location doesn't even come close to the service and quality. I am sad that the service at 12:00 7/9/16 was so disappointing. Cold fries, tasted freezer burntCold tots, sorry size order. Flat tasting root beer25.42 was the bill and feel completely ripped off. The sandwiches had very little meat. Sad day in Wichita, management should be embarrassed

Suggestion is to call in your order. We waited over 25 minutes - and we were one of two customers - and the other ones already had their food. 2 people working over the lunch hour for the drive through, inside pick up and dining room.
