N & J Global Market

Wonderful bread, and many exclusive items you can not find anywhere else. Owner is kind, helpful and hardworking. If you want to take a stab at making authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, this market is a must. Highly recommend.

I bought an item (wafer cookies) from N & J global market next to N & J Cafe. The wafers were horribly stale, no taste of chocolate at all. I bought these as I had lived in Italy (where the wafers were made and imported from) and ate these all the time while living there. I called and spoke with the owner of N & J global market and she said that she could not give me a return or exchange unless the item was expired. All I wanted was an exchange. Crazy as this sounds it is their policy, which is horrible! Why would they even sell a expired item? I am an environmental health specialist and in one of my duties it is to make sure items are not being sold that are out of date, but apparently this store can get away with it? I asked about a exchange and she could not even provide me an exchange. The item wasn't expired but the packaging was not sealed I found out but still she didn't offer any exchange. I understand these items come in from other countries. However there are other stores/businesses that import foods from other countries and make sure that the packaging is properly sealed for consumer satisfaction. Unfortunately I did not go to one of those other places and was eating dinner at the café and decided to step into the bakery. Lesson learned. She said that if she started taking items back because she would have many items that would be returned. So that should be a warning to each of you who want to shop there. She informed me that she could only taken back items that were made at the N & J bakery. Shoppers beware and maybe shop at another store for imported goods.
