Eh a solid three in Kansas is probably a five all things considered for sushi. Service was prompt and thorough. I ordered edamame, and egg rolls and two sushi rolls. Egg rolls were deep fried and tasty but greasy in a good way. The $5 plum saki was ok. Edamame was as expected. The two rolls looked good but they just didn't hit the spot. I left all but two bites of the deep fried roll behind. Tasted like sausage inside. That was oddNothing terrible but I wouldn't come back. By 7pm it was getting busy on a Wednesday night.

Let me start by saying I've eaten here in the past, years ago. Things have significantly deteriorated from my previous visits. Extremely, rarely, do I get anybody a two star review... this is the exception.I think a big part of the fun with Hibachi dining, is, seeing the meal prepared in front of you. They don't do that here, it's done in the back, and brought out to you. I've always felt, the entertainment helped justify the price... However, no entertainment here. Per the menu, the dinner comes with various things, including a salad. I was informed they didn't have salad, no replacement, or discount. . After asking for ginger sauce and mustard sauce, I was informed they didn't have either. In my lifetime, I've never been to a Japanese restaurant that didn't have these. They certainly had them in the past. I was informed, by a manager, that nobody requested them, and what they made up (in the past) went bad so they just stop serving them. I mentioned all other hibachi restaurants I've been to automatically serve them with a meal... No comment by the manager. They did bring out ginger dressing, as well as mustard in packets... No salad, but they have ginger dressing!? I was not impressed by the manager's attitude or answers.I order is a combo meal of fillet and shrimp. The filet mignon was tender and tasty... And the High Point of the meal. However, given everything which was missing, not worth $28! On the other hand, the shrimp (for an additional $6) they served, looked like small cocktail shrimp and gave no appearance of being grilled hibachi style. The steamed rice, was barely warm.When I logged in on the Yelp app, there was a free egg roll appetizer. Thank you yelp! It was, OK. To say I was highly disappointed to be paying a (one person) check for $37 before tip, as an understatement! With all the changes that have happened, this place is not worth the price for me. This is likely my last visit.

The food smelled good however the service was nonexistent. My wife and I waited while the hostess told jokes to gentleman in front of us. Then she proceeded to get on the phone and talk about how she was one of the hiring managers. I left went to the restroom then to my suv. When I returned told my wife how short handed they are and may not be able to seat us and left. We waited patiently for 15 minutes and finally walked out. With management like this it's no wonder that they are short staffed.

Very good Sushi but I did think it was weird that the food came out so fast.I've never been to a sushi restaurant that was so quick.I always order spicy tuna when I'm out, I don't think I'll order it from there again. Not much flavor and kinda boring.Besides that it was pretty good.

The menu at Mr. Cao's is very good. The problem, is the cleanliness. The carpets are filthy and the tables feel like they're swimming in grease. This could be the "big go-to" for us, but the place needs a good scrubbling from top to bottom. We haven't visited in several months because of the issue.

Food was good despite the restaurant looking dirty. Very surprised at all the dirty tables and lack of staff. Not sure what went on that day. This was our second time dining and not super impressed. Restaurant lacked the passion luster.

If I could have given zero stars I would have. Ownership needs to be aware of what their manager is doing with customers and staff. Yelling and arguing, creating a scene. So much for ambiance and enjoying your dinner...what an awful excuse for a human!It's probably best to keep that one in the back sweeping or something....just appalling.

Allergic to shrimp. When I asked if they could change to yellow tail like normal, they denied me to change 2 pieces of shrimp on my roll. I've never heard of this manager before, but I do know it is currently under new management. The lady who answered, Donna, claimed to be the manager. When I told her that we come here all of the time, and they always switch fish to yellowtail, she proceeded to say: "well I am the manager and if someone is switching what's on the roll then they will be fired.", which was very offsetting coming from a business person who's been in restaurant work for years. I will be going to Koi Ramen from now on,And let's pray for some better management if you guys plan to stay standing.No one wants to go to a shop with shitty service. Especially when there is a perfectly good one down the street :)
