Matfield Station

Stayed here for two nights with my wife and nephew. This is an old Santa Fe section hand bunkhouse that has been converted to a three suite motel. Highly recommended for Railfans. We are here for the fires on the Prairie and to watch some trains. Boy, do we get to see a lot of trains! It is a BNSF route that grants trackage rights to the occasional Norfolk Southern. Stack trains, Grain trains, mixed merchandise and the occasional Key train. Rates are a bit high, but a very peaceful experience.
