Food was great! If you go,,,you will not be disappointed! So enjoyed my trip there last week! Was nice meeting the people working there! Everyone so nice! How I wish I could have a meal there every day or so. :) Thank you so much, for the great food and hospitality!

My work travels often take me to Durham. When they do I LOVE eating here. The baked sausage lunch is awesome! Best sausage I've ever had. Homemade pies are terrific. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. Best I've ever

The food is really good. We have had breakfast & lunch there plus the Friday night German Buffet (which is always busy); and the pies are awesome. As for the one complaining about the service, I can't imagine anyone being so inconsiderate as to take a large party in late for breakfast at any café; most people would be unhappy about that when they needed to be getting ready for the lunch crowd. We have always found the servers to be friendly.

This is the best home-style cooking I have ever had. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. The sausage is amazing. Make sure to ask for the locally made Granny's Mustard. The pie served here is all homemade and beyond belief. I am going to post the menu board in the photo section. The menu is simple but believe me, it is worth traveling across the country to eat here. Can you believe fresh lemonade for $0.75 - I almost fell out of my chair. My favorite pie is a tie between the Sour Cream Raisin and Coconut Cream. Also, when my cousin informed the waitress that she didn't want the salad bar included with the daily special, they offered to take it off the price. My cousin had the Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy. About 12 hours later she was in the emergency room with severe pain and a gall bladder that has to come out. Believe it or not, she is looking forward to having her gall bladder removed so she can return for more of this food!

Great hometown restaurant run by local Mennonite family. All home made. Cinnamon rolls and bierocks, cheese and sausage can be purchased to take home.

Some of the best breakfast and cinnamon rolls I have ever had. My husband and I randomly traveled an hour to Durham to try their breakfast. We barely made it in time, but we are glad we did. The cinnamon rolls are the best we have ever had. They are also different variations of cinnamon rolls such as pumpkin rolls that are tasty too. We also ordered biscuits and gravy, and pancakes. My husband was reluctant to try the homestyle syrup, but you cannot go back to maple syrup after having their homestyle. The biscuits were fluffy and buttery, and the gravy was rich and had plenty of breakfast sausage to give it some bite. We have made the trip to Durham three more times since our first visit. If anybody is in the Wichita or Topeka area, and isn't afraid of a little road trip, go to the Main Street Cafe in Durham, KS!

What a gem! Upon recommendation from some people in the area, we stopped by for the Friday bbq buffet. It did not disappoint! The food was flavorful (my favorite was the pulled pork and ribs) and the dessert selections were awesome! We all tried a different pie, sour cream raisin, strawberry, apple and lemon meringue. All home made and delicious. Staff was really nice and our iced tea and water glasses were constantly being refilled. We never had to ask. I've been to a number of bbq places out of state and this place is one of the best!

We had a little time so drove from Abilene to have an early lunch yesterday. A good decision. The bierock special was just what we needed. The bread and filling were supurb. The lady taking care of us answered our questions and provided a 2nd choice to help us. The place is very clean and tidy with bright lighting and country touches throughout. While we were full, we shared a piece of raspberry-rhubarb pie warmed with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Homemade for sure. As we checked out, we needed to take a cinnamon roll with us for this morning. Glad we did!

I'd heard that Main Street Cafe serves some of the best pancakes in Kansas, so I had to go to find out. We ate there on a busy Saturday morning at 9:30am. We sat at a table and the waitress told us that it'd be 5-10 minutes before she could take our order. After we noticed that other parties had arrived after and ordered before us (25 mins after we arrived), we brought it to the attention of the waitress. We'd clearly been forgotten about. By the time she took our order, the breakfast special was sold out and she advised us to not order any hashbrowns due to the time it took to cook them. We waited another 45 minutes for our food (two pancakes, two orders of biscuits and gravy and a sausage, egg,and cheese biscuit) to arrive. By the time we finished our meal (at nearly lunch time) the restaurant was mostly empty.With that said, the pancakes were very, very good. Even more notable was the rich homemade syrup which reminded us of a thick caramel sauce. The house-made sausage was good in the gravy and as a patty on the sandwich. The food was good, so I'll give the bad service a pass, and I'd like to revisit another time when the restaurant isn't so busy.

Don't blink! You just might miss Durham, Ks. A small, beautiful town with great food and great people. The Cafe is absolutely amazing and has a comforting inside. They are great for early morning-lunch time. And evening on Fridays. For breakfast I always get biscuits and gravy with hash browns w/ gravy and a side of bacon and it's Awesome! Lunch time they have many things but the bacon cheeseburger with everything on it and a side of fries is amazing. It may take a bit for your food but as soon as you get it you forget you even waited. It is worth It! Go on to Durham and check it out!! You won't regret it.
