Talk about finding a diamond in the rough! Definitely found it here! Place is fabulous! I was doing some traveling during the week and decided to stop for a bite to eat. Service was fantastic! Waitress was very attentive and checked on me frequently!I ordered the KC Strip-Surf and Turf! Steak was perfect! It was super tender, seasoned great, and cooked perfectly to my liking! Growing up raising livestock I'm very particular about meat, especially beef! I found out they buy from a local farmer and cut their steaks fresh daily, which you could sure tell the difference too! I also had a loaded baked potato that came with actual "real" bacon on it and not just the fake bacon bits. Side salad and roll were also good. Ice tea was freshly brewed as well. Grilled shrimp was okay. Great place to watch sports. Bar is located as you first walk in and then they have the restaurant portion available too. TV's available all around to watch sports and/or news! Decorated up nice. Highly recommend!

We were in Abilene to meet up with some family and this place was recommended as a great local spot. I feel like in each small town there are often some great hidden gems that the locals frequent and this is definitely one for Abilene. The M&R is unpretentious, and welcoming, but also clean and friendly. I was impressed at how kind the staff was, even to a bunch of out of towners, as I could tell the place was largely full of locals. The food we had was good, and fresh, and it was overall a great spot to meet up. I'd definitely consider it if looking for a local restaurant again in the area.

We had just visited the Eisenhower Presidential Library and were looking for a good restaurant for lunch. My husband had done some research and decided that this place would be a good option. Boy, was he right. The parking lot was completely full and there were even some cars parked on the road. There was a line when we got there, but it moved pretty quickly. I opted for the BBQ bacon burger with onion rings, and my husband ordered the pb and j burger. Both burgers were big and juicy with plenty of flavor. Extra napkins are recommended. The onion rings included 5 big tasty onion rings. Service was good from our waitress. We would definitely return.

An interesting stop in for lunch. Just visiting from OKC and I took my co workers to lunch. It was an interesting place to say the least. Food was pretty good. I was just not a fan of the onion rings - just not my style.I did get the M&R PB&B burger. I'm willing to try anything and that one caught my eye. Who would have thought peanut butter, bacon & siracha sauce. It was unique and tasty but I will definitely try making mine at home to see if I can replicate.My lunch gang all got burgers which they said were good. Although we were only there for a day and not likely to return I would recommend to say last try.

We recently took a 21 hour road trip across Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa and this was some of the best food we had the whole week. Let's just start with that. The Winner Winner Chicken plate was FANTASTIC. It brought back so many nostalgic memories of food like this from my childhood. We were waited on by a very busy older lady, which just added to the appeal. She was super nice, but they were packed during lunch so it was "no-nonsense." We also got dessert, which I didn't like AS much, but that chicken made up for it. There's not a lot of choice for food in Abilene, it seems, and this place is an easy pick.

We were waited on in timely manner with politeness and care. We got our food hot and very good. Loved it. The waitress came back and checked if everything was ok few times. Great atmosphere and clean too. Highly recommended !

Stopped in before going to the museum. What a great choice! We were seated quickly by a very friendly young man. Once we ordered our food came super fast. It was also very tasty. My husband had the pulled pork and raved about it. Thank you for making this a pleasant experience.

You can always tell what to expect from how busy a restaurant parking lot is - in this case we anticipated a special experience with a full parking lot, and plenty of people parking in the street and nearby parking to get in on a Sunday afternoon. We stopped by while visiting the nearby presidential library, and we were quickly seated which was nice considering the number of cars - they do have a lot of space inside. My wife enjoyed a very normal bacon cheeseburger , and I had to go with the spicy PBB burger - it's been well written about, and it is quite a crazy combination of peanut butter, bacon and Sriracha - while it was creative, I'm not sure that I'd have it in me to try it a second time. Our server Trista was efficient, and the overall experience was consistent with a burger place with sports on TV screens throughout the restaurant. Pricing is reasonable - note that they do not accept American Express cards FYI. The booth seating is a bit worn, so both the seating and the seat backs were a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, it is a fun casual environment, and if in the area we would likely stop by for burgers now and then.

First timer! Food was delicious! Very flavorful and cheap. Definitely would come back if I ever stopped by Kansas again. The waiter was doing her best to serve us. She had multiple tables which took a little bit for us to order. But other than that all my co-workers loved their food and so do I. Place was a little small but clean.
