Best food in Wichita! Clean new seating area. Staff is always friendly! Food portions are HUGE. Really you could split something or take half home. So don't let the price scare you - it's 10000000000000x worth it.

[Full disclosure: our meal this evening was comped. That said, I keep my reviews honest, and since this was technically our second visit, I can confirm that the quality and service was exceptional both times.]I'm a relative newcomer to the world of Peruvian cuisine, but if there's one thing I know by now it's that it's pretty magical. The flavors and colors are unique and bold and unlike anything I've ever had--and yet, somehow familiar and always comforting. Whether you're into sushi, pasta alfredo, stir-fry, or luscious steak that explodes with flavor, you'll already have a point of reference and will definitely find something to love at Lima Nation. We started out with the tuna tartare wonton tacos, which came with 3 beautiful little ahi sushi tacos bookended by mountains of butter lettuce. They're a little messy, but mixed with the lettuce, any escaped filling becomes an equally delicious salad. If you like poke bowls or sushi burritos, this is the way to start the meal. Next up was the Tiradito Rocoto, a great starter for folks who like dazzlingly spiced (but not spicy!) sashimi and want to try well-prepared octopus. I've never had octopus and I don't think it was for me, but my husband said it was much better than any he's had before. I was very happy with the thinly sliced, lightly acidic raw white fish and all the sauces, corn and sweet potato toppings. The chicken causa was next, and it was the most unexpected and beautifully plated dish of the night. If you can imagine mashed potatoes formed into a flawless omelette shape and filled and topped with savory chicken salad (and boiled quail eggs!), you'll probably be confused, but you should order it anyway. It was a wild collection of Latin and church potluck(?) flavors and textures that somehow all worked together. Our entree was a substantial bowl of Fettuccine Huancaina with Lomo Saltado. The tender, light fettuccini is coated in a ubiquitous yellow huancaina sauce (it's basically Peruvian alfredo) with stir fried tomatoes, peppers and red onions, but it was beef tenderloin (lomo saltado) that stole the show. Each perfectly seasoned bite melts in your mouth and I found myself dreaming about having the whole bowl to myself (but splitting it was perfect.) My only nitpick was the pasta at the bottom of the bowl, which was slightly too salty and soupy due to the combined meat and pasta sauces. (I'm watching my sodium so it was especially noticeable to me, but it probably won't phase most people.) At $42, this dish is also on the higher end of Lima's date night-friendly price range, but honestly, it did not disappoint. We concluded our glorious spread with Suspiro Limeño Cheesecake, a carmelly, custardy trifle with a vanilla cookie base. It wasn't cheesecake in the tangy New York sense, but once you take a bite and get some of the cream sauce and toasted meringue, you probably won't care. This little pudding seems small, but with the reasonable portions of everything else, it was the perfect size to complement our meal. We both tried a cocktail from the full bar as well: he had a passion fruit pisco sour and I had a Chilcano Classic. My drink was sweet, sparkly, herbal, and refreshing, perfect for cleansing my palate throughout the night. His was similar, but served in a whisky glass and on the fruity, foamier side and probably better for after the meal. Overall, we were pleased with our selections and look forward to trying more house-made drink options.Service was excellent and the restaurant seems well-staffed. The atmosphere is tasteful and understated in gray, black and white, which isn't the color scheme I typically associate with Peru, but it works for the location, price point and clientele. The food brings all the color, right? Pop music played at a medium volume in the background but it was not disruptive to conversation. It was busier tonight (Friday) than the last time we came, but that's only about 5-6 tables, so it was still fairly quiet. We were asked if we had reservations at the door, but I'm pretty sure they're not required.Price-wise, it's ideal for special occasions and date nights for middle class folks like us, but there are options to fit most budgets. If you're looking to embark on a flavor adventure that'll have you Peru-sing your palate, I wholeheartedly recommend Lima Nation. From the vibrant dishes to the warm hospitality, it's a dining experience that brings the joy and warmth of Peruvian cuisine to the east side of Wichita. ¡Buen provecho!

I've loved everything I have tried here so far. My favorites to order are the Parmesan Scallops for appetizer and the Tuna Tartare Wonton. The Causas tastes like a refreshing yet comforting salad to me (I love potatoes)--they're meant to be served cold. You can't go wrong with any of their Cebiches. For main dishes, I am forever craving the Risotto with Lo Saltado and the Tallarin Verde with Lomo. The food presentation is so vibrant and the flavors are just perfection. The staff and service are great, too. I can't wait for my next meal there!

Lima Nation was fantastic! They brought out a complimentary appetizer. The meals we ordered were excellent! My husband is very picky and he loved the food. The cheesecake for dessert was so good! Thank you for a great experience.

Food was very good, as well as the service. The place had a nice clean decor. My only complaint was when the server brought the check the price of the entree was $6 more than listed on the menu. It was corrected.

Amazing meal It took a while for the chef to prepare the dish. I was surprised that the server brought me Chicken Causa to try for free. It was nicely presented and great flavor with just a little bit chicken to bring out all the flavoring ingredients. The chaufa with pork belly was delicious mixing with egg, scallions, shrimps and their special chili sauce. To my surprise, they even gave a gift card exchange for an appetizer for my return visit. Definitely coming back for more yummy Peruvian food!!

I'm not one to leave a review but for this place, I really wanted to, just to make sure people know what a great place this is. This is my second time here and both times food, service and ambiance were amazing, 5/5. It's a bit on the pricier side but it makes up for it with quality and quantity and makes for a great date night. Everything we got: the passion fruit alcoholic drink, ceviche as an appetizer, lomo saltado and the shrimp fettuccine, had a lot of flavor, and was a good serving size. I will also add they taste great as leftovers the next day as well. The staff are sweet and knowledgeable about recommendations if you need it. Honestly, this is one of my favorite places now in Wichita and will definitely come back when I can.

We usually have to travel to Chicago LA or New York to have food of this quality. Why doesn't Wichita show up?The first time I came here, there were three well-known chefs and their families having dinner. They know something you don't. This is the place I would go to twice a week and this is the only place that I've ever put a review on.I'm so new at posting things like this, but the service is phenomenal. The restaurant is one of the cleanest I've ever been in. I don't use this word often, but this was absolutely amazing.

I'll start with a review of the food:Both the Risotto w/ Lomo Saltado and Tallarin Verde w/ Lomo were excellent dishes. The chef knows what he's doing and it's great. It did take over an hour to get our food after ordering. Service: This is the low point of the review. Front of house management was lacking. Servers weren't well trained on the menu or checking up on us for cocktail refills. Bartenders were the owners and were not very efficient at making drinks. We would've ordered more cocktails, but the server never came back until the food arrived. With it taking so long to get the food, people that made reservations after us were waiting in the lobby for a while. If they can improve on service, this place gets 4 or 5 stars easily and probably can increase their revenue at the same time. Ambiance: They don't decorate the place with any cultural significance to Peru or South America. Same with the music (American pop). If it wasn't for the excellent food, you'd never know it's a Peruvian restaurant. I'd say the food alone makes it worthy of coming back, but allow yourself plenty of time because our visit was over 2 hours.
